East Tennessee Weather II

RT, do you still live in Northern Georgia? If so, you’ll be getting a Tornado Watch soon.

I’m back and forth. Currently in Madisonville, I think the southern valley may see one too.

Watching some storms trying to churn up in North AL. Hoping the storms to the south cut them off.
 
Heads up for folks in Chattanooga:

There’s a Tornado warned cell in northern Alabama that is heading towards you. Need to keep an eye on it.
 
Looking like severe levels are diminishing but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. So much uncertainty left. I’m checking out till 9ish. Every radar I have watched has strong storms hitting that plateau at that time.

Line West of plateau moving East with storms moving northeast coming out of AL and Georgia. I think this is what some models was picking up on. Nonetheless something to watch and I couldn’t stay away.

* At 939 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This may cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
La Follette, Oliver Springs, Jacksboro, Caryville, Rocky Top,
Oakdale, Coalfield, Smokey Junction, Rosedale and Dearmond.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* Until 1030 PM EDT.

* At 959 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 10 miles southeast of Wildwood Lake, or 13 miles south of Benton, moving northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Benton around 1015 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Reliance, Conasauga, Archville, Hiwassee Ocoee State Park and Parksville.

southeast of Etowah, or 15 miles north of Ducktown, moving
northeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Tellico Plains, Bullet Creek, Coker Creek, Citico Beach and Citico.
