It used to be a really crowded place here in Bristol during race weekend back a few years ago, but not so much now. Sure is a lot easier to get around town now. The UGA game is so much more of an event this weekend. GBO!!!

I got into NASCAR back when Bobby Labonte was Champion. Used to go to one or two races a year in Delaware or The Poconos. Haven’t watched a minute in the last 5-7 years. The stupid playoffs, Race to The Chase, stages, endless cautions,road course/pseudo road course races, and guys changing numbers every two seconds just all combined to turn me off. I have a dirt track, New Egypt Speedway, that I go to once a year—more fun, close to the action, a bunch of different types of races, Free parking, low food prices and reasonable ticket prices just make for a better night.

Could you tell me if the hotels in Bristol, Virginia or Tennessee, jack up the prices on Vols game weekends? Do they require two night stays? Is Bristol about two hours southwest of Roanoke? Any chance you would know how long it would take from Bristol to the Far Hills Mall area in Maryville on a game day? Thank you for any info.
