I know the crazy transfer portal window will alter any other views, but who all from our 2 deep depth chart, do we expect to return for next years campaign, thanks for the researchers in advance.

Team is super young, so I expect many to return. Hopefully improved thanks to this trial by fire season.

We need serious help on the defense, going to have to hit the portal hard for cbs and lbs. A reliable kicker and another option at qb would be handy.

I expect a lot of the youth on this team to be pursued (and likely are already hearing) from other teams. Its going to be an all out bidding war to retain players... WRs, DL, OL, LB specifically are going to hear from others..

No excuse to be the youngest team in the league in the transfer portal era. Just a modest effort would have filled obvious gaps and likely kept us as a playoff team. Heupel wasted the easiest schedule he’s going to ever see.

The bigger concern is, outside of WR, I don’t see a unit that has shown improvement. I’d say several are regressing, particularly on the offensive line. Linebackers and safeties still look lost. Defensive tackles get shoved around. TE has been terribly inconsistent. QB even looks worse as time has gone along. Joey struggled against a horrible team last night. The back ups didn’t look like SEC level players and i see why GMac lost his 5th star. Hes been here since the spring and you have to question the strength program. Heupel doesn’t seem capable of making in season adjustments to teams scheming him. It took longer this year, but iits obvious teams have figured out how to shut down Brazzell and thwart the big play.

Can't really argue with any of this honestly. Something that bothered me last night was how much our defense was getting pushed around on running plays.

NMST should not be pushing our guys 4-5 yards after contact.

I was thinking in terms of the other side of the ball. We should have been able to impose our will on their D and run it at will

NMSU had about 55 yards rushing, The d line was not getting pushed around.

Hopefully our NIL money will be allocated to keep the guys we really need…you know people are going to want to swipe a few of our guys…hard to keep the guys who aren’t getting a lot of playing time but the guys we count on need to be locked up before the portal window opens.

Both cases are on us, and our roster construction. If we aren't upper level then either of the above can happen. Repeatedly.
