Guess I'm not surprised!!!
I did'n' watch Bammer but, the score...and what I've read....IF..the same UT team shows up as ... the last two wks. We should win by at least 10!

just covering the spread won't help us a lot in the polls, I would guess, considering the performance bammer has turned in the past couple weeks against two perrenial powerhouses. We need to win big. An unranked Alabama at 5-2? The voters clearly see their weakness. Lord, I would love to blow this thing out!

At this point, with a 39 point loss on the books, we just need to worry about playing with emotion, staying fundamentally sound on D, and winning games... by whatever margin.

Our best shot at a quality bowl is to play in the SECCG, IMHO. I don't think the coaches and writers are going to be too enthusiastic about the Vols regardless of whether we beat Bama by a field goal or three touchdowns. Bama is not terribly well respected at the moment.

With five of the six SEC east teams ranked in the top 25, I would think that just managing to win ballgames would be enough.

At bama, a pick em spread is reasonable. But with Bama's problems on D, UT should be able to put up some good points, at least 27-30. The key will be UT's D against Bama's short passing game.
