"Sources inside EA Sports have confirmed that NASCAR Kart Racing for the Wii is the only NASCAR video game they will be releasing calendar year 2009.

That means no NASCAR 10 for the 360 or PlayStation 3.

And with EA's NASCAR license expiring after this year, it looks like the state of NASCAR gaming could be in for a major change.

When asked for an official quote, an EA Sports spokesperson confirmed the rumors, but would only go on record to say: "We are continuing our conversations with NASCAR, but nothing has been announced regarding the license or future projects and we don't have any further announcements at this time."

Come on Papyrus!!!:clapping:

Seems like a lot of people dig Race Pro that just came out. Not as pretty as Forza, but lots of people are saying it's a better driving experience.

It would be cool if somebody would release a Nascar game of Gran Turismo 5 quality. I've got my G25 logitech steering wheel / pedals and shifter ready.

Bad news for me i love 09. you guys that don't think the game is good' it's probably because you didn't play the game enough........setups is a big part of it and finding friends to race with. I race every fri & sat nite and have a blast.

EA NASCAR games are horrible compared to Papyrus. It was a true simulation racing game when they had it. EA makes an arcade verison...

Also EA killed to HUGE online following that Papyrus had. Custom cars, tracks, etc...

Who cares? I'm still playing my PC game with Nascar 3 and Nascar 2k3. That's the best there is.

EA's Nascar sims have been nothing more than a huge joke.

Great news, maybe the next guys will bring it back to PC and get the simulation going good. I agree with everyone, EA's Nascar was lame as heck. I'm still on Papy's 2003 season. Haven't played in a long time though.

The economy is tanking. No news there, of course, but, in the midst of all this financial chaos, I wonder if good things might come out of it for the sports gaming industry. Take NASCAR, for example.
Now, you know the real sport of NASCAR is in trouble when the Daytona 500, the biggest event on the race series' calendar, doesn't manage to sell out until the night before the big event. Television ratings are down and the series as a whole has seen teams contract and combine, with further downsizing a virtual certainty. The latest NASCAR casualty looks to be EA Sports' NASCAR games. As reported on ESPNand Sporting News, it seems like the recently released......

I used to play Nascar 2003 all the time.

But I played DTR and DTR2 more than anything...

Nascar HEAT was good but the Dirt Heat Mod was better than that

im glad EA isnt doing it no more. they suck. althoguht they r doing great with the battlefield series. whoever picks up nascar needs to make it back into a simulation game. i want to race at a restrictor plate race in the tight packs like in real life. i want to see weather affect the outcome of a race. i want to see the temperature affect the way the car handles. career mode needs to be better to. i liked the career mode for the old ps2 one(cant think which one it was). They should also do somethign liek in the old days of thunder game for the original nintendo where u control your own pit crew.
EA's problem is that they just either didnt care about the nascar series n just wanted to make another racing game or they didnt really understand the concept of nascar
