Why even ask the question?
I have seen a couple of these type threads regarding true freshman and I am not sure why.
Wait till they are at least Juniors, some freshman come in and make a splash other have to develop and learn. Jesus.
I hope they get an rs out of him.

We can all thank the Paper Industry for the illegalizing of hemp and ultimately the sweet Mary Jane.

I thought this thread was about EJ Abrams Ward? How did we get to illegalizing the sweet mary jane?

Hahaha. Something about EJ's suspect drug screens under the Fulmer regime. I'm all for getting back to topic now. I'm passionate about the subject and for that I apologize...

It isn't hard to figure out how to make money on it -- even the government can figure that out. It is illegal because politicians generally don't get elected on a platform of "let's legalize weed."

It will never be completely legal but decriminilization is not far away. Jimmy Carter almost got it done. Marijuana can be regulated in an effective way but it does have dangers even if they aren't as severe as those of alcohol or other drugs. Look at CA, though. You're allowed to grow for personal use and have under a certain amount legally. That's about as lax as you can hope the laws on pot to ever get. Guys in prison 10 or 20 years for selling pot is ridiculous but we don't want a society full of potheads. Americans are lazy enough as it is.

Economies of scale (lower price per unit when purchasing large quantities of items like fertilizer, land, lights, etc) will make it much more affordable for large industry to mass produce any product like this. Add that to America's ever-increasing desire for convenience, and you would easily have a market. I'm not saying that there wouldn't be people growing their own, but it would be much easier for most who would desire that product to go out to a local store and purchase pre-packaged items than to learn and implement the basic gardening skills it would require. Also, the reason people don't grow tobacco has more to do with the curing process than the growing process, plus people want the convenience of pre-rolled cigarettes and cigars.

Anyway, this is way off-topic, but I just wanted to add my $.02

Good post. CA is a perfect example of what you're saying. You can legally have a co-op growing up to 100 plans at a designated location. However, growing good marijuana takes skill and dedication that most people don't have so most people would purchase it from a retailer.

How exactly is the government going to make money off of something I can do in my closet, attic, or garage and supply enough for me and 10 or so of my friends? It takes a lot of time, money, and effort to make good alcohol at home. It would take a field of tobacco to supply enough for that habit. A seed, some water, a little tlc, and voila!

Back on topic we've been needing a big WR for some time now.

How about addition by subtraction. Not spending 20,000,000,000 per year fighting pot and pot alone. In east Tennessee we spend something like 10,000,000 per year flying those helio's. And we bought the helicopters and equipped them with those cameras. From 1986-today I think the figure spent on the war on POT is over 1,000,000,000,000.

P.s. I am an avid non-smoker...

I have seen this kid and he is a specimen for a WR and would produce a matchup in our favor anytime he lines up as a reciever...I have said quite a few times that we need to get him in the game but I knew there was more to it because he never even seen the field in the JV game
He'd lose his redshirt year if he had played in a JV game

6-5 reciever who didnt play at all this year. Possible stud?... or dud?

I would have to choose stud. I think you will see it this year too. He was the #1 player in North Carolina, 6-5, 210lbs., 38" veritcal, ran a 4.6 forty. I think you will see others emerge this year as well, that haven't done anything at UT so far. With Fulmer, freshman usually either played limited on special teams or were red-shirted. Talent just wasn't developed.
I bet if Abrams-Ward would have been at Bama or Georgia, he would not have rode the pine. Does Julio Jones or A.J. Green ring a bell? All big fast guys. The difference, some were actually used and developed and one wasn't. I think that is about to change.

2 things I have to say here.

Don't really care if the mary jane is legal or not. It makes no difference to me because I don't smoke. Never have, never gonna.

EJ Abrams-Ward will be a fine receiver.
