Dyer Rumor

SIAP Does the Dyer to ASU rumor have any weight?

It was supposedly a done deal a few days ago, then yesterday I heard Chizik might put heavy restrictions on him, and let him return. In short, I have no clue

He messed up bad...turned down Vandy at $2.5 million and a chance to coach in SEC. Ended up taking a $300,000 pay cut to take the job at ASU in whatever mid-level deal they are in. He forgot the ole phrase....strike while you're hot

I don't see how he messed up - he only took the ASU job due to location. He doesn't want to live in Tennessee.

First Malzahn wanted to come back to Arkansas. Also, IMO it is much easier to win at ASU than Vandy. You are playing much easier competition and if he is a good coach they will be able to win a bunch of games. Malzahn could use that success to get a big time job as he would be a proven head coach. At Vandy it is very difficult to succeed and he could be out of a job in 5 years. Unless Malzahn is really hurting for money, this isn't a horrible move.

Malzahn is going to ASU for a year to see if he can do better than Dooley's record as head coach before he becomes the next head coach at UT. His wife owns land near Knoxville and he used to be a UT Cheerleader.
Book it.
per insider infoz.

Plus, Freeze left a solid roster for Malzahn. He should be able to compete immediately

I can't find any reason why Vandy would have been a better career move. IMO he made the right decision
