Dwight Miller in my 8AM class

Quinn said this summer that miller was the most intriguing guy on the team. He's apparently very educated and very well rounded, and just a very interesting guy.

I've said for awhie, my theory is when Martin and staff didn't get who they wanted in 2012 class they told miller he could stay and finish out his time here for free since he only had one year remaining.

He doesn't practice, isn't rehabbing hard to get back, and his surgery was also supposed to be very minor an quick recovery. Just my theory.

From what little I have seen of him on the court, it looked like he could have helped the team this year, considering what we have in the post. It makes me think there might have been some more serious problems with the knee, especially if he doesnt pursue the medical redshirt.

There's not room for him on next years team, if he chose to pursue that he'd have to transfer again.

I understand that, but to just give up his basketball career? Maybe his knee is in bad shape, or maybe he just plans on going to Europe.

It's not like he was NBA or D-League material. Maybe he has aspirations to do his own business thing, or something along those lines. Not every player is wanting a career in basketball overseas as their future, miller may be one of them.

It means if he is on scholarship for basketball and not playing, he should be very happy. If school is free, he should be happy. And he should pass it down the line as in make something of it and do some good for someone else with what he takes away.

It also means it is good to hear he is a nice guy.

I sort of get what you are saying, but he's just a college kid. I was on a full academic ride at UT. I tried to be a good guy to be around, but I'm not sure I ever felt like I owed it to anyone to "pass it down the line". I had ups and downs just like any 18-22 year old kid trying to find himself.
