Any more info on Mr. Forgey? He was called "Dummy" apparently because he was mute. How did he communicate with Neyland and players? Was he a native Tennessean? How did he and Neyland meet?

The article tells me a bit about the quality of the character of the General. He hid Forgery on away trips to avoid the bigotry and discrimination against Negro train travelers. The only thing he could do to make sure his man accompanied the team. I think this would put Neyland at risk himself if caught. So I see him as one a H#@@ of a man not to mention had a level of loyalty pretty rare in those days. Wish I knew more about the relationship between the two.

Wish Mr. Forgey could have lived another twenty five or so more years and he would have seen the beginning of the end of bigotry in college sports, and the lives of minorities in the South.
