"...After the Texas House did not reach a quorum today to vote on a newly drawn congressional map, Attorney General Ken Paxton vowed to do “everything in my power to hold them accountable.”

“It’s imperative that they be swiftly arrested, punished, and face the full force of the law for turning their backs on the people of Texas,” Paxton said in a statement.

The remaining state lawmakers passed a motion to allow the speaker to issue civil warrants for representatives who did not attend the special session. Many of them left the state to block a vote on the map."

Good luck with that bro. Arresting Texan Congressional Democrats. 🤣

Running away is weak.

Give the Texas citizens something to make them vote for you no matter who your representing and win the right way.

Trump win because he gained Latino voters.

Just broaden your party and stop always picking the 20 out of the 80/20 ratios.

If they actually follow through with this it will end badly, possibly very badly, for the GOP officials involved.
No it won’t. It hasn’t the past two times in recent history that it’s happened. This is all a show both parties already know how this ends. For the Dems all they get out of it is a campaign contribution opportunity

A reminder that the problem is gerrymandering.

Well if it is a civil war, we know that the left won't win because all they do is:

What was the result when Oregon kicked out the republican senators who abandoned their duties a few years ago?

Was it civil war?

Makes you wonder why Dems would get so upset as to cause civil war. Republicans didn’t do that.

So, like all dems; the law means nothing to you I see. I remember when obstruction of congressional business would get you three to four years of incarceration without trial.
Nothing says “defending democracy” like stopping votes. Amiright?

Well, first, they'll be sued into oblivion. Second, if they are attorneys, they may have bar discipline. Third, they could be sanctioned by the courts. Fourth, they could be charged with a crime themselves, such as criminal malicious prosecution.

They will claim immunity to all of that, of course. But there will be discovery and I assure you there will be evidence of actual malice, which is often problematic for a claim of immunity in many forums and contexts.
