After a recent conversation, i started to think that this would be an excellent way to settle things that have no bearing on the law of the land. Matters of Honor, so to speak.
Would it be that awful, that if two gentlemen disagreed on principle so badly that they were willing to do battle with pistols or rapiers until one man surrenders or is rendered dead?
I mean, if both parties agree, of course, and believe in the cause which they represent to the point where they would choose to fall on the field of honor rather than admit their cause was unjust, would that be such a terrible thing?
