This fellow was filming the snowfall this past Saturday when things turned interesting on his street. It's in Bountiful which is about 10-12 miles north of Salt Lake City.

I've seen this happen other places so Utah isn't the only place where people who shouldn't be on the road still try regardless of weather.

That subaru wagon driver early on should be on the rally circuit. IMO.

I liked the 360 by whatever that was. Some people are better than others. I drove in worse conditions Saturday night and never had a problem. But, I know my car's limits and don't attempt stupid stuff.

Looked to me like ice under snow conditions for people to start losing control that fast. We get that a lot when we ever get snow here and you have northerners talk smack until they do like these folks in the video.

Probably was. It started as a heavy wet snow with the temps hovering around32-34. Slush probably turned to ice quickly, then snow on top. Tricky stuff.

The only reason I don't miss living in the Colorado Mountains..I had a tahoe z71 but it was a huge sled on ice. Had to have chains to make it through most passes.

That's the problem with ice. If you don't have chains or studs, you're screwed. I don't even know if they make studded snow tires any longer. They were required when I lived in CT for the snow season. I haven't used chains in probably 30 years. If it's that bad, I don't need to go.

Dang, I wouldn't have thought there were some many dumbass drivers in the snow in Utah.

Yeah they make a killing off snow tires studded and new studless tires. They were expensive and when in I was in town they were good about clearing roadways. The trips to Denver, Vegas and Cali plus the summertime kept me from buying them because too lazy to change them and they are horrible on dry roads.
I miss the snow though wish I was out there now.

Still snowing here. Been going for the last four hours. Tiny flakes though. Not the huge fluffy ones I like.

I grilled out tonight it was 50 degrees at 8 oclock..smh It looks like more warm temps and rain in the forecast this week. Would love to be staring at the mountains watching it snow out the window.

We had about 4-5 decent snows in November and early December. Nothing big-about 4"-8" each. We had a warming trend early this month that last about a week and a half. Temps in low to mid 40's at night and days in the upper 40's. Most of the snow had melted below the 8,000' level. Early last week, before this present storm moved in, a few Winter Carnival type things were canceled due to lack of snow. It's making up for it now. Especially in the mountains.

It has been a mild winter everywhere so far...The West and Northeast are starting to pick up colder temps and snow as of late. I expect a longer winter though in the south because typically high temps early lead to cold temps in Feb and March. We will see..

Feb. was always the month I hated in Tennessee. That's when the temps get down to the single digits around Knoxville.
