Has anyone else tried this out yet? I got it on release day and have put about 10 hours into it. Outside of the quirks(level design imo and animation during cutscenes), I've had fun with it so far. Going through it with a rogue elf on my first playthrough.

I am giving it some time. Dragon Age has been on a decline the entire series. the story line is so chopped up, I wish they had almost billed them as completely separate games in the same universe rather than partially linked games sharing some plot points, characters, location, and decision history.

nothing I have seen about it made me want to go get it. will probably pick up in a year or so when I can get it cheaper, or some post launch bundle to include the DLCs.

Getting some pushback over some woke-forcing. Apparently you have to sit through a fairly lengthy cutscene explaining why it's ok to be non-binary instead of calling yourself male or female.

I saw some complaints about that. but hadn't watched any videos to confirm.

I am not even sure why its a thing? Are their speech options really nuanced enough to have different options in the same response between he/she/them/Qunari?

that just sounds exhausting.

Someone set the scene to Seinfeld/sitcom style and it's pretty hilarious.

The Seinfeld laugh track was a nice touch 👌 😆 I think this game tried to appeal to every gender pronoun that it failed . I can get a lot of fun out of the other characters romance wise thankfully. This isn't something new from Bioware. Feels like forcing an issue.

I will say this... I restarted the game today because I didn't like my character, and now that I recreated a character, I'm finding it hard to continue as I found the first 10-12 hours i already played kind of dull. I'll come back to it eventually, but JMO so far.

@Pennheel how would you rate the other characters in your party?

in 1 they felt mostly really good. good interactions, great character development, nice banter in camp.
in 2 they felt mostly good. good interactions, decent character development, some banter was great, but some felt forced.
in Inquisition they felt very forced. interactions felt forced. no real character development beyond them ALL having an alter-ego hidden side, and none of the banter stuck out to me.

@LouderVol out of all the characters I've tried so far,(which is 5) the only one who truly feels forced is Neve. Her personality is dry and really annoying. I really like Harding and have since she originally came into the series. Ballara has a animated personality and is fun to use. Lucanis,I can take or leave, but has cool powers.
I haven't played with Darian much.

They're very similar to Dragon Age 2 from what I've played.

I just finished this yesterday. I really got to enjoying the game later on,but could see the mixed opinions and where they come in. I look forward to whatever comes next and how they improve on this.

speaking of Dragon Age, went back and bought the ultimate version of Dragon Age Origins.

It was going great for a while. then after one graphical glitch I can't run it in full screen mode any more. The cursor icon doesn't show up after loading from one region to the next. If I run windowed its fine. Had a few more game breaking graphical issues as well. no textures or shapes rendering in, despite the game running with combat. Clipped through the terrain a couple times and got stuck.

I was really enjoying it until this all started happening. a lot more difficult than I remembered it being.
