Dooley: "These guys don't worry about staying four years any more, so why should we worry about redshirts?"

I have to agree with him
You cant build depth if your redshirting players

I guess I see it the other way. That would be more reason to preserve eligibility for Worley imo if Bray leaves next year. I can see that logic but I would think you'd rather have Worley 3-4 more years. I see both sides I guess.

I admire Simm's courage but when he's at the helm it's discouraging and gives a sense of hopelessness to the program. There was an obvious spark throughout the entire program and fan base when bray took the helm. When Simms is in it just feels stale

Worley is our only shot to make it to a bowl game. He might give our offense the spark it needs against usc

Where is Bray going next year? He better have one heck of a year, cuz he isn't getting to the NFL gimping around with a jammed thumb!

Too bad it is not a jammed thumb, huh. Let's see you try throwing a football with a "broken" thumb.

GO VOLS!!

What an idiot. He should worry about redshirts because it gives us stability at the QB position for an extra year. What happens the rest of this year makes no difference anyway.

If I were a college coach, I'd play my best players regardless of class. Not many superstars become seniors anymore. One more reason for college football fans to hate the NFL.

How is it the NFL's fault?

The idiot is you....CDD plays Worley against Bama because Simms couldn't lead a HS team to a state final!
And, I expect Worley to start against SC next week--was trying to get him some reps in until Lane fumbles!

:salute:

Bray could throw the ball better left handed than Simms can right handed. One of the guys on sportstalk radio the other day were speculating a really bad jammed thumb believe it was Doug Matthews. Don't get your balls in a bunch!

On the contrary. If by stability, you mean a completely inexperienced backup QB next season, one that you have no idea how he'll perform in games, then you're right. Simms isn't getting the job done. You have to see what you have in Worley, if for no other reason, you'll have an idea of how you should gameplan in the event of another Bray injury. UT needs every game they can schedule this year...for the experience. With 6 wins comes a bowl game, and with the bowl game comes extra practice time. Worley may not move UT any closer towards getting 6 wins this season, but it's pretty obvious that Simms isn't going to get them there either. If things go perfectly next year and Worley is never needed for a single snap, he can always redshirt then.

You want be saying that if we lose to Vandy, Kentucky or MTSU. This team would completely give up with Simms playing out the string.

Besides a bowl game would give us several weeks of much needed practice.

Uhm, because they offer huge contracts to the best players in college football to come out early. Have you been living on Earth lately? :ermm:

It is the player's choice, again I don't see how the NFL is at fault. If anything the players should be getting blasted,

Dooley: "I read VN everyday, and I can tell you I share their pain....except for the negavols. Moving Worley to starting QB is the right thing to do for the program. My hat is off to my fellow VN support team, we made this decision together...SC is next up, let's get ready."
