The 8-4 will be a disappoinment thread got me thinking about certain scenarios and what would cause Dooley to lose his job and which wouldn't

So I am going to list out scenarios and I want you all to vote/post which ones you would want Dooley fired or retained and why.

Scenario 1
Nc St. - W - 34-14
Ga St. - W - 42-10
UF - L - 24 - 27
Akron - W - 54-7
@Georgia - L - 17 - 27
@Miss St - W - 24 - 22
Bama - L - 14 - 31
@USCe - L - 20 - 38
Troy - W - 54 -10
Missouri - W - 42 - 35
@Vandy - W - 21 - 20
Kentucky - W- 31 - 17
The team had no significant injuries, Sal's defense struggled at times during the season, Dooley wins games he supposed to, but doesn't post one big win. 8-4

Scenario #2
Nc St. - W - 27-24
Ga St. - W - 42-10
UF - W- 28 - 27
Akron - W - 54-7
@Georgia - L - 10 - 42
@Miss St - W - 27 - 20
Bama - L - 10 - 41
@USCe - L - 14 - 31
Troy - W - 54 -10
Missouri - L - 24 - 34
@Vandy - W - 42 - 10
Kentucky - W- 31 - 3
No significant injuries, Dooley starts off the season great, but then lays 3 big eggs and the team gets blown out of October. 8-4

Scenario 3
Nc St. - L - 21-24
Ga St. - W - 42-10
UF - W - 31-30
Akron - W - 54-7
@Georgia - L - 20 - 30
@Miss St - L - 24-28
Bama - L - 20 - 21
@USCe - W - 24 - 20
Troy - W - 54 -10
Missouri - W - 42 - 24
@Vandy - W - 42 - 0
Kentucky - W- 51 - 10
No significant injuries, Season starts ugly with a loss to NC St and Miss St but we upset UF. We start to play better down the stretch with a close loss to Bama and upset USC. 8-4.

Scenario 4
Nc St. - W - 24-17
Ga St. - W - 42-10
UF - L - 24 - 27
Akron - W - 54-7
@Georgia - L - 17 - 20
@Miss St - L - 20 - 22
Bama - W - 20 - 17
@USCe - L - 20 - 21
Troy - W - 54 -10
Missouri - L - 30 - 31
@Vandy - W - 21 - 6
Kentucky - W- 31 - 3
Bray hurt in UF game late, misses games against UGA and MSU. Comes back to lead a huge win against Bama but team loses down stretch to USCe and Missouri close. All losses are extrememly close but we go 7-5.

Which of these 4 scenarios would Dooley survive? All of them? None of them? Vote!

I voted that he would stay in scenario 1 and 3.

I think they are both fair season and wouldn't be reason for firing.

The second one we beat UF, but get blown out in 3 games...I don't want to see any beatdowns this year.

The last even though Tyler is hurt for part of the season, we would have to close out stronger after he returned, even with an upset over Bama.

The poll states which scenario allows him to retain job. People are taking the poll as which will get him fired it seems.

I think CDD stays in all of these, but the worst to me are any scenarios that include us getting blown out by anyone.

Also, in my eyes, beating Georgia is key to CDD's overall success. If he can beat Daddy's old team, then he can beat anyone.

I agree. I think he stays in all 4 scenarios. He would have to have a great year next year but 8-4 will keep him in UT to 2013

I think he survives them all. I think with all the new assistant coaches this year, the AD would give him one more year and one more recruiting class to see what happens. Personally, I think that would be best for the program in almost any scenario in which we wind up with a winning season.

If it's 5-7 or worse then I don't see how they can keep him. If he wins 9 or more then I don't see how they can fire him. Anything in the middle it's going to depend on who they lose to and by how much, how's recruiting going and who can they hire to replace him.

Dave Hart is not going to fire Dooley for the next 2 years unless the program becomes a complete disaster. Sorry, Dooley detractors, neither season will be disasters. Progress is evident and will result in improvements and more wins this and next season. The hate Dooley crowd will have to wait and hope for big embarrassing losses for their wishes to come true.

So going from 6-7 (3-5) to 5-7 (1-7) is progress? :crazy:

None of those make any sense..

we beat florida but then lose to mizzou or miss st?

bama, usce and UGA are the three swing games, we are going to destroy everyone else on the schedule.

and then 1 of those 3 games we are going to win.. to make it a 10 win season

and don't come at me with how many games swing that is or some other negavol junk, talking about how we played last year. It has no bearing on this years team, which is united and ready kick some arse in the SEC.

Seasons don't always go exactly how you think they should preseason. They are things called upsets and they happen alot.
