Dooley will not release Bryce Brown to Kansas State (Confirmed)

His father said Bryce did have a face-to-face meeting with Dooley, so either he or Dooley is lying.

Regardless of what happened, it would have never been fair to Nick Laimison if Bryce did get his release. Dooley did the right thing imo.

He doesn't want to play here. Unless I missed where we have K-State on an upcoming schedule, I see no reason why he shouldn't get a release there.

I wouldn't release the prick period after the cowardly BS he pulled when he was here last time.

Dooley should hang tough on this one. He doesn't want to set a precedence of releasing a player unless there is a very good reason. It will make players think twice about asking for a release from their commitment to the Big Orange.

Look at it this way, Dooley is a part of this team, Bryce is no longer a part of this team. As fans, we should back our coaches decision.

Mr. Brown is probably not a paragon of truth the way he has jerked his sons around and got that "handler" involved.

If you read the article it says that he took 3 things into consideration, one of them was how the student athlete handeled the situation. Obviously not showing up to practice, sending text messages n such is not a good way to handle it, especially when he hasnt asked Dooley as a man to get a release. CDD handled this prefectly. Exactly why a recruit shouldn't only come to a school ONLY for coaches, should come to get a damn education like your supposed to, because everyone knows maybe 10 kids out of 80 on the team will go to the NFL

I have no problem with Dooley not releasing Bryce Brown.....as mentioned you don't want to set precedence of releasing guys that easily....now Laimason(sp) on the other hand, I see no reason to have not let him go....we have Nance coming in

What is he saying?

Tennessee's Bryce Brown asks for release, wants to transfer to Kansas State - ESPN

Arthur Brown said that's because he has repeatedly told Dooley since April that he has wanted his son released from his scholarship.

"I've tried to cooperate with Coach Dooley's request not to divulge information in the media," Arthur Brown said. "But I have told Coach Dooley since April, every time we've talked, that we want Bryce taken out of Tennessee. This is our family decision."

Besides, if Bryce's heart was never at Tennessee, then he should have thought twice before signing that letter of intent.

If what Bryce's dad is saying is true, Dooley is being the prick.
"IF" being the key word here. Knowing the circumstances regarding BB's recruitment, Kiffin's promises for playing time etc. I prefer to believe DD as will most people.

I don't see Dooley's motivation to lie. I do see the Brown's reason to lie.

The fact of the matter is that Bryce's decision to leave hurts the team. He should have to pay the consequences just as the team he walked out on has to pay for his decision.

Players should have the same freedom to change schools that coaches do.

You can't possibly be serious...

This is a ridiculous statement. Players, 18 to 22 year olds, should have the ability to switch teams freely? This would create 5 superpowers... Tennessee would not be one of them.

Players should have the same freedom to change schools that coaches do.

Some coaches know the consequences when they sign and sometimes they have to pay back money they were paid. Bryce doesn't have to pay anything back, just has to sit out. I don't see anything wrong here.

The whole story doesn't sound right. I think Bryce's dad has alot to do w/ the whole mess. It sounds like to me that Bryce is probably saying one thing to CDD and telling his dad another. Bryce's dad sounds like the prick to me. Anyways, I totally support CDD's decision.
