But it was interesting that Dooley noted Sunday evening during his teleconference that he felt like there wouldn't be "too many misses" in this 2010 signing class.
Some players, like Justin Hunter, Ja'Wuan James and Jacques Smith, show glimpses of big-time, All-SEC potential. Others like John Propst, Corey Miller, James Stone and various others are high-quality program guys needed by every school.

And that was exactly Fulmer's problem the last few years...way too many misses all over the roster.

Unfortunately the 2009 class has already produced four misses and the jury is still out on Oku, Jeffrey and Askew.

Man i was really pumped to get Askew. I thought he would be starting by now. Oku has shown nothing. Hopefully Jeffry will turn out.

Yeah its hard to not miss on guys when we are offering 2 and 3 star players and Tennessee is by far their most impressive offer

Yeah Askew was who I was most pumped about. He looks like a stud and I think next year he will be starting.

Jeffrey still hasn't come back 100% from the knee injury.

He may never or he may develop into a good ball player.

if you think Askew starts next year, then you must mean for Norfolk State.

John Propst is the one that suprised me. When we got that guy i thought he would just be a warm body on the bench. Nice to see he's showing up. Or is it that our current talent base is that bad?

wow, pretty snide remark. why don't you just cut to the chase and tell him that askew is a bust and spare us the spatting.

askew is not quite the player that the star guys thought he was. neither was his dt buddy from the same school in last year's class. seems the star guys are cozy with the coach at oscar smith.

no. you dont.

Apparently Askew is dumb as a box o rocks. I shouldn't say that, we'll just say he has a "learning disability" when it comes to the playbook. He can't even make it off the practice squad.

I don't think he's dumb, but I've just heard there's an effort problem. There's a difference. Still time for him to get it. However, with the LBs we have leaving this year, if he doesn't sniff the field next year, I'd see him being a bust.

i trust this staff's ability to judge talent much more so than the previous two. look at the nfl pedigree of our ol, dl, wr and even our head coach when it comes to that. i don't think you'll see many 3 star guys commit who are trash, or won't contribute in some way.

I watched his highlight reel during the recuiting process and was very excited about him. I haven't seen him play much at all lately so I really can't support my opinion. But, like I said, I watch football but I don't watch football players who haven't played. So cheer up buttercup.

I disagree.

Based on? Just wondering.

Dooley hasn't had a full year to recruit. There just isn't enough there for me to say this staff can evaluate talent better than Fulmer (which isn't a very high bar) or Kiffin and crew.

Look at the guys Kiffin brought in that have played a very important part this season.

Dooley's guys have played well too. Stone, Crump and Propst have all played well.

It's just a slight exaggeration to put DD and staff above proven results.

On the Kiffin players: I can only think of Janzen that is playing well. I may be missing someone, but that's only one I can think of off the top of my head.
