"We are just not very good right now."

This quote sums it all up. We have depth issues, experience issues, and talent issues, but that one single quote sums it all up. We have played with tremendous heart some games, but you can't expect a college team to bring it every single game as hard as they can. Never has happened and never will. We just suck right now and that's it. Here's looking forward to the future and hoping Dooley is the man that gets us there. Go Vols!!

Yes I can expect them to bring it hard every week. Thats Dooleys number one job,to get the kids ready to play every week. We may not have the talent level, but that is no excuse for not having the heart to play hard every play.

Bobby Bowden once said that you shove fundamentals down their throats because you are only going to be able to get them way up about 3 or 4 times a year. The rest of the games you have to hope they are just good enough to win.

the team with the most talent normaly wins the game. not been very many games where we have had the most talent.

you never have slacked off at work? thats amazing because I know I have. I would bet you have too. its hard to give 100% all the time. in fact it can't be done.

I don't have a problem with him saying it right now. Its true.

People can be irrational and think coaches should be able to mold any group into some kind of instant world beaters...but they can't.

Blood from stones, chicken salad from chicken sh**, all that kinda stuff...

The game is not the only part of "work" that goes on. I expect kids to not give all at practice day in and day out because it happens. But (using your job analysis) if you slack in board meetings or presentations for purchase/sales you get the boot.

ok then, lets try and put it this way for you. have you ever seen teams play go down after a bad loss? or even a close win. yes it happens all the time. Georgia even with a 1-4 record is better than us right now.

People have to realize we are dealing with a lot of really young players on this team. They have to learn how to maintain a certain level of play every game. Not saying 100% every game, but at least a respectable level of play. That being said, there are some DB's Waggner/Evans that couldn't bring it even if they found it! These two are pitiful and horrible all game, every game!!

Yes we suck. But it IS THE COACHES job to make sure they are playing to the best of their own ability and to at least have the right number of players on the damned field.
Not to mention lining up right or knowing their assignments (heaven forbid they know where to line up). I can take getting beat (don't like it) by a better team. But 3 weeks in a row with having the wrong # on the field AND not lining up right and not knowing their assignments AND not playing full tilt is on the coaches. I don;t give a damn how you or the other Dooley lovers want to spin it. He is making millions of dollars and he should be able to at least field the right number of players.

One thing that has pissed me off is the questioning of the heart. Yes, you can in Oregon when we visibly quit in the 2nd half. But other times it's just stupid to question heart when it's the fact that we aren't that good. Who on offense showed no heart yesterday? Because the majority of the problem was the young o-line not having experience or depth. Just because they aren't that good right now doesn't mean that the O-line doesn't have heart. The main problem on the D yesterday was our slow, small LBs, our lack of DL depth, and Art Evans and Prentiss Waggoner. Reveiz can't help that he's small and slow but to say he doesn't heart is a big reach. Prentiss Waggoner and Art Evans are just not that good, we have seen that since they've been here. Not being good does not equal not having heart. Joseph Ayres cannot help that he is the starting DT as a walk-on Freshmen at 260 lbs. Him getting pushed around is not a lack of heart and instead if a lack of talent.

So before you question a player's heart think about whether what you saw was just a young, inexperienced, depleted team or a team that is out there with no heart.

But Evans and Waggner were 3 star recruits. No way they can suck according to the Dooley Sheep.

Yeah Fulmer's 3 star recruits. You can question Dooley on several things, but talent evaluation is not one of them.

Not at all. But I want winners and DD is not a winner as a coach.
Not in the WAC and damned sure not in the SEC.

You must love losers!

I'm glad you got a magic 8 ball to see the future because somehow mine never got delivered.

The state of our athletic program is pathetic and the fact that some of you on here would rather lash out at those of us who want UT to win and won't accept the garbage that our AD and coaches are doing speaks more of you than the rest of us.

There's a difference between wanting to win and realizing what we have this year. Fulmer created it, Kiffin perpetuated it, yet you blame Dooley for being the only one with the balls to tackle this job with the vast amount of problems it had.

That's not what he stated!
All the goobs on here who keep celebrating everytime another 3 star commits to Dooley.

I want UT to win too, but I'm not calling for coaches heads after 6 games. we are young and no depth. you have to give the coaches atleast 2 years. and if there not better I will be right there with you questioning this coaching staff. and will be down right furious if its not alot better by year 3. but its 6 games they have to have more time than that.
