In a recent interview of Urban Myer with columnist and radio talk-show host Paul Finebaum was asked about Kiffin and it turned into a convo about Dooley...

When asked by Finebaum if he were going to miss Kiffin, here's the way Finebaum described Meyer's response:

"Oooh," Meyer said, taking a long and seemingly inexhaustible pause. "I gotta not answer that or it'll be on the front page of USA Today tomorrow. I have a lot of respect for the new guy at Tennessee. I never knew him. I don't know much about him. But I have spoken to Coach (Derek) Dooley quite a bit, something I haven't done with a Tennessee coach in a long while."

Now i KNOW that everyone is going to be like " see Dooley is bringing respect back to tennessee" and im sure he is. but there is just a part of me that wishes Dooley would come out fighting a little. i mean we dont want to become the program that kisses the rings of florida and alabama...

now im not bashing dooley and i like the man....

but isint there anyone else out there that wishes Tennessee was the talk of the SEC media day...and that we had a coach who says "F U" to F U.... hahah

Just because he's on speaking terms with these guys doesn't mean he's kissing their *sses...But, I kinda agree with you about having somewhat of a bad guy at the helm. We'll see..If CDD brings us to the top again, he may develop an attitude problem...

I'm going to miss Kiffin on the level that he annoyed the hell out of some of our rival fans. I miss that. Especially some of the rival posters here who are worse then some of the VN locals at letting go of things.

Kiffin's mouth wrote checks that he couldn't cash.

Dooley's mouth is busy recruiting kids and getting this team in shape, because he knows that even 7 wins doesn't make you elite again.

I like the Nick Saban method myself. Seems like it works.

The logic in this post is a big FAIL. How do you jump to the conclusion that CDD is "not fighting?" Just because he seemingly can have a cordial conversation with an opposing coach? Give me a break.

I agree. I did like the fact that kiffin was pretty vocal and walked a thin line but I feel that Dooley will stay the course and be pretty succesful. hopefully

We had that last year with Kiffin, at first I loved the way Kiffin came in here with some swagger & not backing down from anyone. But I actually love the way Dooley is going about things. He isnt out in the media running his mouth or bashing other coaches, he just wakes up every morning & goes to work like your suppose to.

well maybe this could be a good thing, seems like everytime we played them they were pissed off and looking to jump on us like a pitbull on a poodle. they always seemed extra fired up playing us compared to others

As long as he wins, I don't care.

On a side note - there always seemed to be bad blood between Meyer and Fulmer and Meyer genuinely did not seem to like Fulmer. Anybody know what that was about?

Oh, look it's Irrational Kiffin Hating Pizza Guy. What a shock to see him contributing nonsense to this thread. Can we get some pictures of guys in cut up shirts carrying crosses?

All Dooley is doing is showing respect to proven coaches. He knows he has no room to trash talk so, I think he is just waiting for a chance to prove himself. :twocents:

He made good on the check about never losing to UGA while he was the coach

There's something refreshing about not reading an article every other day about a bonehead move your HC made....

Kiffin was a joke, all bark and no bite......I for one like the fact that we aren't being talked about everyday because of a coach who isn't proven.....Dooley will end up being an excellent hire IMO.....

i just think kiffin filled that void that all of us have about being out of the spotlight for so long. I hope once dooley gets settled he starts walkin a little stronger bc i think this fanbase is tired of watching fair weather florida fans with their beaches and tebow love having all the rings and now ALABAMA is back and we all know how their fans are (terds)...ALOT of trash will be talked and we just want to be back....
