I was just listening to the Herd on ESPN radio and in discussing this weekends games, Colin said that Dooley was way over his head and that UT is poorly coached. I tend to disagree and think that once Dooley has a few years in the system he will be successful. Your thoughts?

I guess since he was 4-8 in the WAC last year, one could assume he was in over his head at La Tech.

Cowherd also said that Nebraska was one of the top 3 teams in the country this year. Take his words with a 5 lb grain of salt.

Cow-terd is an idiot, why would you waste ur time listening to him? His JOB to stir the pot... Always easy for someone who talks BS for a living to criticize everyone else. Well here's a critique for him: Hey Colin, your show SUCKS and your voice is annoying!

You're the one over your head! Go back to Tampa are report sports on the local TV station again; you're WAY over your head...

Cowherd also said in the same sentence that TN would be looking for a new coach by the end of this year.

Dooley has never been a coordinator -- anywhere, ever. His only HC stint was not a success at La Tech, where they got worse, rather than better, in his 3rd year there. Here's his record against teams of more, comparable, and less talent:

Opponent Had More Talent: 1-8 (avg. loss -- 24 points)
Opponent Had Comparable Talent: 3-10 (avg. loss - 8 points)
Opponent Had Less Talent: 13-2 (avg. win 10 or more)

He only had 1 winning season in a WAC conference where he had as or more talent than most of the rest of the league.

Dooley talked about the importance of finishing well. The problem? During his tenure at La Tech, they rarely to never finished well when they fell behind in the 2nd half:

Late 3rd/4th Q Finishes When Falling Behind in 2H by 10 or More to =/+ talented...

Use to listen to Cowfart but he has become a Jim Rome twin. Just painful to listen to. He's an admitted USCw homer who's never ever been to a game in the south. His opinion about CDD and UT football amounts to a bucket of pig sh@t. Just remember he also said that the Reds would fold up and the Cardinals would probably end up in the World Series. Just say'n.

The outcome of our football games has nothing to do with Dooley being in over his head.. It has to do with a Football Program that is in a BAD WAY right now. There is not a SINGLE coach in america that would make this situation good any time soon, I don't care who you pick..... If you think some name like Gruden, Stoops, _________, etc. would have had a better run this year, you are OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!!!!

Cowherd is a blathering Idiot and everyone knows it, like mentioned previously, his job is to stir the pot, and to get a rise out of whatever fan base he happens to be hung up on today. We just happened to be an easy target, right, don't let hin get to you!!!!!

He also said-about 4 years ago-that Alabama was never going to be on top again. How did that work out?

If you like sports-do not listen to Colin Cowherd. He says things just to get a rise from people.

Looks like he's doing his job well then.

You were either listening to a replay or he has nothing new to talk about. Turn the channel!

I love the Vols just as much as the next man... but this is the truth...

Dooley wont be around after year 2...

I mean let's be serious... he probably has to stand in line and show his ID when he shows up to an SEC football press conference or something... While Uban Myer, Les Miles, Nick Saban, and Mark Richt show up in Humvees on 22 inch rims that dont stop spinning and thier resumes stitched on the back of thier suit coat while Dooley holds up a sign that said "Well I competed in the WAC... kinda... ok not really"

that equals over his head... harsh truth to our program right now... I need a hug :(

Neither Van Pelt nor Cowherd are analysts, they are personalities on ESPN radio meant to be funny, say ridiculous things, and bring in listeners. They are glorified fans.

I might listen to Van Pelt if he's talking golf or Cowherd if he's talking about.... well, nothing. The only ESPN radio personalities I can listen to are Mike and Mike and atleast Greenberg openly admits to not playing or having an inside knowledge of sports.
