I don't see Tennessee getting back to being a respectable contender anytime soon or ever again. Fulmer had 2 losing seasons and got fired. How has that worked out since? We have gone from a proud program to an embarssment. We change coaches yet we get worse. Another winless SEC season and maybe finish 3-9 which would be the worse in the team's history.
If I am wrong tell me where I am wrong. I have been a Tennessee fan for almost 60 years and is hard to see this team continue to get embarrassed on national TV.
Go Vols!!!!

You’re exactly right. TN Football is on life support. Not only will we not win a SEC game, I doubt we will be within two touchdowns of any SEC team.

We're 5 years and a coaching change from any chance at relevance....and that's if the culture in the administration changes. They are more committed to control than success right now.

Who are we going to hire that actually WANTS this job?

It’s supposed to be that easy right?

You are right. I don't see how it gets better anytime soon. We are the new vandy of the SEC. We are the bottom dwellers. By the end of this year, we will be on a 17 game sec losing streak. I don't think vandy ever fell that low did they?

I see no bright future ahead. My 11 year old daughter doesn't know what it is like to have even a semi successful team.

No it's not that easy, until the administration wants it to be. They haven't run a serious coaching search in decades.....certainly not in the last 10 years.

To lure a successful coach they will have to loosen the reigns on institutional control, and seriously open the purse strings. If you want to be like 'Bama that is how you do it. You don't do it by hiring their retread coordinators on the cheap.....thats been proven.

so sad but so true! Did you get to see Kentucky, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Missouri yesterday?

And those are the teams we are supposed to have a chance to beat.

Face it--we can't beat'em--we can't come close!

poster is right--we ARE looking at a three win season.....

I think that things will be better when ol' Jimbo heads to the country club prison.

So, you're saying, UT will never contend again.
Totally thread worthy, nobody ever said.
