Don't murder me but...

I think it is too early to decide if Crompton is going to be our savior or not even pan out. I've liked what I have seen from him so far, but considering he has played only sparringly it is difficult to make any real decision about him. We have been pleasently surprised by our Junior quarterbacks when our stud senior has left in the past.

Absolutely! he was a 5-Star QB coming out of HS.....tall, mobile and a strong arm. If he isn't a star next year, I would seriously question our player development at UT.

Crompton has a very strong arm, and is strong and mobile. I can't imagine how his arm strength would be any sort of liability at all. His accuracy worries me a little, he didn't seem to be able to substain drives with short accurate passes when needed last year.

However, with all the questions marks about the program, the QB position is the very far down on my list of concerns.

Hey, why I am I posting in this thread anyway, we have a great QB this year, and I don't want to get too excited yet, but after last week, there's is hope for this year! :)

You gotta take the LSU and Arkansas game with a grain of salt as far as Crompton goes. Both were EXTREMELY good teams with no-s*$% good defenses. I would hope any QB we ever start plays as well as Crompton did in his 1st start...much less the fact that his 1st start was against that LSU team and his 2nd against that Ark. team. It's not like he was starting against Ga.Southern. I think he did a great job against both. He was expected to make mistakes... and did, but he also made some HUGE plays... TDs to Meacham & the big hit he made on Landry. The mistakes will taper off just like they have with Ainge... and besides, he's a Shuler style QB... Cutcliff's gonna have fun with that next year.
