Don't count out Bryce Petty

I don't think anyone is counting him out. I just think the Nunes thing was a way for some of our more delusional to get people to stop booing the patron saint of 8 win seasons.

VERY TRUE MY FRIEND, Bryce Petty is an excellent QB and like you said very mobile, it won't be a surprise, it'll just be plain ol domination, kid has got a lot of determination and will play his heart out and not look back, he was recruited by 9 schools, some of those being Oklahoma, Arkansas, Baylor, Nebraska, Texas A&M, and TCU. He chose the big orange though with a solid verbal commitment. He's a texas native and it just seems to amaze me that Texas high school qb's usually turn into great college level qb's and pro level qb's. People even do call him a pro style QB and he will prove it when he gets the chance to step onto the field.

I heard he is sorta like Chase Daniel, not the biggest kid, but smart, mobile, and accurate

Petty is coming from Texas, so he understands highly competitive teams and fanbases. I don't think some random booing after a bad performance will shock or upset him very much.

I completely agree. Petty's legit. He might not be the ideal qb that recruiters just fall in love with (6'6", pocket passer, with a cannon) but he still gets the job done...and rather effectively. I think he's like a taller Todd Reesing. He seems really comfortable on the move and on bootlegs, but has the height at 6'2" to still stay in the pocket and pass over his OL. We should see his stock soar as recruiting progresses.

and things of this nature often work out for the best. I hope for Nunes' and our sake that Petty is a 1st team AA as a freshman.

i think we should stop using the term "mobile qb" except for qbs who are actually serious dual threats (tee martin, vince young, pryor, juice williams, etc) i think it's thrown around too much in the wrong ways nowadays...like crompton, though he can run some, is not anywhere near what comparisons to tee martin's mobility made him seem. This is just me though.

He's not listed at being extremely fast. I thought I read he was around a 4.7- 4.75 40yd dash. That ain't that fast these days. Tebow's much quicker. Not to mention that's nowhere near Tee-mobile.

Guess from where Nick Stephens hails.
