He issues a statement saying he is "committed to Florida." This has all the potential of being a career ending disaster for Mitch Barnhart. He better hope Izzo, Cal, or Barnes have had a change of heart in two years.

I know you dont like Travis Ford, but if Barnhart can land him, I believe he will be safe. I would assume though, that MB would have a coach in place before they fired BCG.

I guess that would rule out any severe long shot chances of Calipari or Izzo then.

Hiring Travis Ford will result in two things that will make me very happy:
1. Kentucky will suck.
2. Kentucky will land on probation.

I am so glad BCG is out at KY. Now, I am happy whenever Hat discusses KY's coaching position.

Hat, do you think they have any prayer at Calipari? That seems like about all the fanbase will accept; at least that's what they are saying on catspause.

I'd be surprised if John would make that move. It's a job he coveted in the past, but he's got Memphis rolling at a level much higher than could have been expected.

If I'm not mistaken, Donovan has a window of time built into his contract at the end of each season where he can decide to leave with no (or reduced) buyout.

I believe that time period ends April 1.

Steve Lavin has turned into a blathering idiot. The longer he's on TV, the worse he gets.

By the tone of his voice Barnhart knows he is screwed. There is no doubt in my mind now that this was a big booster decision. The countdown is on. Mitch will be a sacrificial lamb in two years or less.

I thought the fact he was so strident in stating he didn't regret hiring BCG spoke volumes.

He knows the idiots are already after him! It is good that he has been exposed. I long feared that he would try and return to Knoxville one day.

Pitino proves, once again, to be one helluva salesman.

Yessir....word is he told Donovan that the Florida fans would drag him through the mud if he left for UK, much like UK fans did to him for going to Louisville.

Now, it's down to Izzo or most of the Catspause intelligencia will be forced to take backwater. "If we can't git Donuvun, Caliparee, or Izzeaux, we shood just keep Billy fer anuther yeer."

bottom line is that he can't retain any real reputation if he flirts with something new every other season. The UF folks would and should eviscerate him if he leaves for UK.
