Is named really quickly. This isn’t any inside info or anything. It would, however, help explain the Steele hiring and Brooks hiring. I’m not so sure that they haven’t had their coach all along contingent on the investigation outcome. If it is Marrone, some on here will owe a big apology.

If they brought in Steele as a coach in waiting then who made the call? With Fulmer being out too why would they let him make that kind of decision?

Some owe an apology for saying there was zero chance he’d be fired

A coach won't be named extremely soon. We'll have an interim coach while a new AD is hired. The new AD will conduct the search for a coach they can tie their boat to.

Did find this interesting. Per ESPN

“Last week, Tennessee hired former Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele as a defensive assistant. A former head coach at Baylor, Steele is expected to serve as interim coach until a successor is hired, and sources told ESPN he would also be considered for the permanent job. Steele played at Tennessee and started his coaching career in Knoxville, both under the late Johnny Majors. Steele was a finalist for the Tennessee head job when Pruitt was hired.”

F that. No way, Steele is nothing more than a Valet boy holding on to the keys until the owner comes out.

Possibly, that choice may have already been made as well.
