My guess is he thinks he knows better guys for the job. Fulmer must think so too.

Both these guys were on staff when I worked for the program. They were/are great.

But so what... the guys Pruitt is replacing them with are also fantastic. One is a UT grad as well.

IMO, nothing to see here. He wanted to upgrade the position - so he did.

Not so sure how bad it looks. That's just one one-sided internet article. Who knows what the real issue is.

Nah, I like the move. Those guys were fine, but it's not like he's hiring idiots to replace them. This article has a bio of the two guys he hired to replace them. Vols need some newer medicine and stuff at UT:

I would say they can do the job but Mathien is about the best in the region which Ian what I don’t get

I only know two things about this subject:

(1) It's an operational decision, a business decision, made for logical reasons, whatever they are.

(2) VolNation will turn it into a drama if we possibly can, painting it as all emotion and hard feelings and...you know...DRAMA.

Coach knows what he's doing; we don't. We prolly ought to just let him get on with it.
