seriously, does anyone else feel this always happens...i mean, when we fumble, we always seem to say here defense, catch this ball in stride and run it back...when others teams fumble, or muff a punt on their 3 yard line, of course they recover it...a wide reciever screen their guy breaks ten tackles for 15 yards, we get 2 yards...is it bad luck or bad coaching or what?

Good teams create their own "luck".

It is not bad luck that we can't run, tackle, cover kicks, etc.

It's bad coaching when you put your team in positions where one or two bad breaks are enough to keep you out of a game. "If at first the game - or the breaks - go against you, don't let up... put on more steam."

On a crucial conversion, Tebow is falling down and drops in a pass to a diving receiver who catches it to keep the drive alive, which resutls in a TD.

Our RB bobbles the handoff, and a Gator picks it up and runs in for a score.

Meanwhile, Tebow gets hit in the pocket, the ball shoots straight up in the air, and we don't get it. James muffs a punt on his one, and in a mad scramble, a guy in a blue jersey recovers it.

Either God hates us, or their guys made plays while ours did not.

phillip fulmer has run out luck. He used it all up in 1998. Now Urban is getting the luck...he may be using it up too fast too

I'll agree to this. The breaks are magnified in game's in which you play that close to the vest style. We unforunately play that way so it seems like every little thing goes against us.Yeah its coaching ,playing that style and not exacuting is a death sentence.

Yes. The other teams always seem to get the breaks. They hire Urban Meyer, Spurrier, Richt, Saban, etc, while we're stuck with Fulmer and company.

As much as it saddens me, I'll have to agree. His stubborn nature has done him in. :cray:

to have a good game and win u have to have a good balance of making big crucial plays and having breaks go your way versus bad breaks.... we havent been getting enough big crucial plays and we really havent had any breaks, on top of that we seem to take some plays off giving the other team a break and/or a crucial big play... against Cal and UF we gave up too many big plays and too many breaks went their way. when ur giving up those two things with us not making a big play at all then you're gonna get beat... badly

I really thought this was one of about 10 bad breaks we got in this game. No one has been talking about it, but they recovered in their endzone but the ball was placed on the one. That was a major swing.

that's football. teams get good and bad breaks each game.

the problem is, when you lose, you start having hindsight and all the "what if's" start popping up.

were there any plays that were so one sided in the "luck" factor that i can point to that as the reason we lost? no.

Has anyone mentioned Tebo's 4th down conversion that we really did stop him a yard or 2 short, but the ref gave him about a 3 yard spot in his favor. That was a huge momentum killer.

There were 3 to 4 favorable spots for the Gators in the game. The Tebow spot was a killer.
