I do believe we have recruited well but is it an overated class? Can we name one player who will have the impact of Tebow? thoughts?

I think that last year's class has athletic and leadership potential. As of right now the 2005 class is a bust.

If the they can weather the storm, and we can get some new leadership out of our coaches, I think that the most recent class is something to build on.

Berry. He'll be a 4 year starter and be the leader of this defense.

However, a DB cannot have an impact on a game the way a QB does.

I'd like to see Creer, Jones, Vinson and O'Neal on the field before I say this class doesn't have playmakers. You can't really evaluate a class until 2-3 years down the road IMO

no, we have a good recruiting class every year and we still send guys on to the NFL. Scouts know what they are talking about and we do get good players. We are getting athletes, but UT has no player development whatsoever. Players are having their talent wasted, they aren't coming in and getting better.

I have heard the overated argument since the drubbing handed out by UF. Honestly I don't know but all the Knoxville radio "experts" seem to think so. They say the ratings are questionable. My question is how did they get the others schools right but when it comes to UT its the recruiting services fault?

I agree on the DB spot not having as much impact. I want there to be a Devin Hester type playmaker or someone who has the impact of a Tebow.

Did Oneal play at FSU before getting in trouble? If so how was he ready to play for them and not for UT? I also think that we waste alot of scholarships on JUCOs. If it takes them a year to learn the system...whats the point? I would think you should know what their capabilities are before signing them and go after someone who could step right in.

Coleman could be a great QB. There are a lot of people in love with him up here. Rogan has been a dynamic return man in practices/scrimmages but has yet to be used in games.

Jones is a damn good athlete, got a lot of work with the 1st teamers, but right now he has a bum hammy (might see him after UGA or maybe not at all this year) Creer showed flashes of what he can do against USM. The coaches have loved what Moore has done in practice but he hasn't had a catch.

Ahmad Paige might be the best WR out of the bunch but he is being redshirted.

So the playmakers might be there, but they haven't had an opportunity to show it on the field.

Might as well throw the recruiting services under the bus while we are at it.:good!:
