Does this cancel spring practice too?

Currently a UT student. as of right now all students living in university housing must go back to their primary residence until at least April 3rd. Rare exceptions may be made if the student can not make it back home. So I think at this point it’s safe to say spring practice is on hold for now.

Good thing UT is going on Spring Break. Again, seems like they are giving roughly a 2-3 week period to sort out who has the coronavirus and who doesn’t and hoping that those who do have it will be hospitalized/recovering by the time school starts back up.

COVID-19 or SARS-2 has roughly a week to two week period where you do not show symptoms. It’s sort of smart but it still sucks. Also, infections are going to be unavoidable this thing is like the flu unless there is a vaccine it will keep spreading until probably the warmer months when the virus will not survive as well.

Hyams tweeted that the SEC Office has said that it is up to the individual universities to decide if they will hold spring football practice. Not sure if that has been superseded by now.

As much as I hate this aspect of it, you have to play the PR game too. If you have just 1 guy get it and we’re practicing and then a bunch of other guys get it on the team the perception of the coaches and administration will take a hit. I think that’s ridiculous, but that‘s what would happen. Plus, quarantining an entire football team plus staff would be incredibly difficult compared to a basketball squad.

Do what Bama Ga and Fla, etc. do. Except if they shut down then keep practicing if they keep practicing, then keep practicing....

People with underlying health issues.....isn't that Trey Smith guy still around?
Blood clotting variables have nothing to do with one's immune system. One of Corvid 19's nastiest traits is its far greater than those common flus' propensities to multiply very quickly. Another of its traits is its aggressive debilitation of the patient's pulmonary system. Being that Trey's health is vastly superior to that of most who're his age, and presuming he doesn't smoke, there's really no reason for him to be held back.

IMHO, while utilizing every precautionary method possible, plus right at the get go testing EVERYONE who's involved, it should be deemed safe enough for these guys to do spring practice.

Their around each other already, So canceling practice would be to late I would think

Edit unless after spring break
There were hockey and basketball games cancelled at halftime / intermission given public health advisories to do so immed so the above would not be a good think.
