If I am not mistaken we can sign up to 27 in a class. This leaves 6 open spots. As long as, we have 6 EE next year then in 2014 we can sign 33. Is this correct?

I thought the NCAA initiated a cap after this year. I think 28 is the cap next year. which kinda sucks for us...

No. You can only sign 25. So 25 + 6 means we can sign 31 next year. At least that was what Twitter was saying.

I'm pretty sure this means we can sign 29 next year, but 4 of them will have to be early enrollees that are back-counted to this years class (making it 25).

Florida- 26
LSU - 28
Ole Miss 27
Texas A&M -32
Georgia - 32

I don't think anyone is following the SEC Rule

A&M can sign more because they got exempted. Missouri too. Only for this year though.

The others just had smaller classes last year I guess.

New rules for this year. 28+3 is the most for everybody else, SEC is 25+3.

Butch called Malik Brown's fax, "our last fax," so I assume he considers us done.

I read that to mean that it was the latest fax to come in, as in "the last fax we received". We're still in the mix for a couple more recruits who haven't announced yet, and who knows what other ones we might pick up in the next few days. I doubt we finish at 21, jmo

The only thought I had is did that mean we are done for today or that the last one he just received was Brown's. I couldn't tell by the comment.

Who knows I guess? I'd rather us be done and go after a bigger class next year rather than sign projects this year just cause we can.

We can take 29 if we stay at 21 this year. We have to EE 4 of those guys though, which means they will be counted academically for this class, which is what matters in enrolling. So, we would have 29 freshman, but 25 freshmen on their 1st semester and 4 on their 2nd semester come that Fall. This, of course, is if we don't sign ANYONE else this year.

I thought the SEC made the rule to keep bama from signing 35 kids & grey shirting 8-10 of them.

Dooley was the king of not signing a full class and "saving spots for next year"

Well guess what - it's next year and we still don't sign full classes......

No matter what number we can back count we cant go over 85 on scholarship. Anyone know what our scholarship number is? Doubt it will be a problem, just saying.

My understanding lines up with this. Go way to explain it. :good!:

Thank you! Hope I'm right =p

You would figure that after year after year of confusion that there would be a set, university announced #.

I would like to point something out to everyone, the 25 limit the SEC placed ONLY applies to NSD, or the time after that if a player waits, like Kenny Bynum last year. If you DO NOT sign your allotment of 25, take 25 and subtract how many you signed, for example, our 21, which leaves 4. That means that we can EE 4 guys that will be in the next crop of freshman, but will be in this current crop of academic freshman, therefore will count towards this class' limit. Thus, we can sign 4 that don't count against us as long as we EE them, bringing our allowed total to 29 scholarship freshman for the 2014 Fall class.

Hope all of that makes sense =p

We have 22 seniors

RB Rajion Neal
TE- Greg King, J Ayres
OL- Alex Bullard, James Stone, JaWuan James, Zach Fulton
DLine- Jacques Smith, Cory Miller, M Couch, M Walls, McCullers, D Hood
LBs- D Sapp, Propst, Crump, C Fugate
Dbs- B Moore, Naz Oliver, B Brewer, E Gordon
K- Palardy

What's scary is our D Line we have J Wiliams, A Carson, Greg Clark, T Saulsberry, D O'Brien left along with Carr, Miller, and Brown. We must sign 5-6 Dlineman next year

68 on scholarship now including 5 EE
16 today puts us at 84 players on scholarship

84- 22 seniors = 62 players so we can sign 23 next year but some players will leave or transfer out
