Does Currie have ANY popular support at all?

If this is true I will be done with Tennessee after 40 years I have had enough of these incompetent morons that have the keys to the University.

1). Currie planed to hire his and Haslam's buddy, Greg Schiano, an abusive man of questionable integrity and character even before he fired Jones.
2). Currie looked at no other coach candidates other than Schiano as evidenced by his trip to the Bahamas to watch the basketball games.
3). Currie botched the attempt to hire Gundy, even as he offered $7M annually.
4). Currie is attempting to hire Brohm and Doeren, two coaches from CoachMart's bargain bin, but Chancellor Davenport cut him off at the knees on Brohm and NCST countered on Doeren. Do we really want another Dooley or Jones level hire anyway???
5). Currie listens only to Davenport and Haslam, he refuses to listen to the fan base who ultimately pays the UTAD bills.

Therefore, how could I support John Currie in any shape, form, or fashion. The sooner he is fired and Haslam is bared from showing his face anywhere near the UTAD... the better.

Jimmy haslam supports him.

And that is ALL he needs UNTIL Jimmy decides to throw him under the bus. All Jimmy has to do is make one call to Davenport and he is gone........Currie will be the fall guy for all of this. If Currie had Nads, he would hold a press conference, resign and tell ALL :hi:

I thought it was discovered that Pres Joe did the wood chopping on that one?

What's been discovered is that there are a lot of twitter queens making stuff up. For every statement there appear to be five differing and contradictory rebuttals, so obviously none of them know anything of value. Problem is they have plenty of drama queens lapping it all up.

The facts are that Currie is an incompetent fool sometimes aided and abetted by Davenport who picked the one unqualified AD from three choices. Currie is an arrogant snob who actually couldn't bargain his way out of a wet paper bag. We don't have a new HC; Currie fired the last one, and his one real attempt at replacing him was a clone of the clown he fired - except his clone came with a poison pill.

Currie should have hired a search firm and spared himself and the University serial public rejections. But, I guess he had his guy (Schiano) and figured hiring a search firm would just be a waste of time and money. For this, and for so badly misjudging fan reaction to the Schiano hire, he should be fired. I am sure he is a fine person, but this entire debacle has been a textbook example of how not to run a coaching search.

I don't live in Tennessee anymore, but I follow as close as I can here and on twitter. I am FB friends with countless people who are UT fans and live all over the place.

I have not seen ANYONE, either in the media or personally, step up to defend Currie and the UTAD. Not one. I understand the the whole mob mentality, but it sure seems like the rejection of his leadership is almost unanimous.

Is the UT admin actually that tone deaf to what's going on, or are the truly so bound to Haslam and his support that they will steer this thing right over the cliff at his comma

I mean come on. Can they not see where this is headed?

No matter what hire he/they eventually make, he has lost all trust. The bad thing is they probably spends all that money on buy-outs of ex-coaches/staffs, almost coaches, AD's, etc. ...

He went after his top candidate and got him. Soon.

I want to believe this. He went through this when trying to replace Snyder at Kansas St. so I am hoping that he had some background with big names but again this whole week has been a bungling mess so we will just have to wait and see who is trotted out Sunday.

I swear to you...if you have been trolling I will find...only kidding (partially)
