If everything goes as planned and Tennessee explodes onto the scene this year, Butch Jones' stock will never be any higher. Does he look at other job offers? With the lawsuit on-going he may be tired of having his name ran through the mud for no reason. I think some schools would be willing to throw a large sum of money at him which will at least cause some great concern for us to start the offseason.

Could this be a reality next year?

Congratulations. With a single post consisting of only 5 sentences, you have made D4H suddenly seem like a reasonably intelligent and sane individual that no longer is the person I view here as the one most desperately in need of an enema.

Not one point you made is worthy of response. All who have or will read it is now dumber for it. I award you no points,...and may God have mercy on your soul.

Dude, we aren't Vandy. If Butch wins the SEC and makes the playoffs or wins a natty then we'll make him one of the top 10 coaches by salary in the country. If he wins it all expect him to go up to the 5.5 - 6.5 million range. Only coaches I can see making more than him will be Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer, and Fisher.

Seriously... some of you guys have way too much time on your hands and really overthink things. Please season get here quickly lol.

If he lives up to expectations, he won't be going anywhere. Hart/UT will open the checkbook and he will finally have what he's been trying to build for the past 3+ years.

I originally read the OP as a spin-off of the "does Butch want to go to the NFL" conversation currently raging in this other thread: http://www.volnation.com/forum/tenn...member-attrition-3.html?posted=1#post12607830

But if you're talking about Butch leaving Tennessee for another college program, no way. Short of going pro, which LWS says he would like to do some day (see that other thread), he's not leaving here for any other coaching job.

So this season for Coach Jones can end one of three ways:
1) We fall short of expectations and do not win the SEC East - Jones stays at least one more year to attempt to 'right the ship'
2) We meet expectations and move one step closer by competing in the SEC Championship - Jones stays to keep building and win a major conference title
3) We blast by expectations, win the SEC title and compete in the playoff - Jones will entertain offers from A TON of schools and possibly the NFL before hopefully landing a nice raise to keep him in Knoxville and keep building

Of course if we go 6-6 or even 7-5 in the season I bet we are looking for a new coach...
