I remember them being built up with a good quarterback. It was the homecoming game and we tore them up pretty good. The score was 40-0. I was living in Hess Hall and remember watching Heath Shuler wear out LSU that year in the Kitchenette on the 5th floor. Anybody on here from that time. That was year we drilled the gators in the rainstorm.

I was at that game with my girlfriend. It rained. She got miserable. She made me miserable. To make a long story short . . . we got married.

Cincinnati was mediocre at best. There was no build up to that game from my memory. We should have put 70 on them but called off the dogs after half time and ran the ball about 50 times.

I remember it! I was stationed in Cookeville,as a Marine Corps recruiter at the time. I had been in Japan and California for 9 years and missed all of the U.T. games. This was my first year living in Tennessee AGAIN, so I watched every game that season that I could.
I also remember Ronald Davis catching a pass over the middle to give us a first down and a win at Georgia.
I also remember Mose Phillips, my son's highschool coach in Nashville, running the screen play in the rain against Florida. Spurrier was super mad.
I remember Johnny going for a two point play at USC and we end up losing. I had rather him go for the time and kick the extra point. We would have had a tied game.
I remember that we let an Arkansas player return a kick-off for a touchdown, late in the game. We lose the game and Neyland Stadium is dead quiet.

I remember that LSU game. And I remember that Florida as well.

Wasn't a kickoff, it was a punt. Then Arky's kicker snuck the gw fg inside the upright.

I was there, my freshman year! That Florida game was awesome, but the Arkansas game was not.

That was one of my most memorable seasons. Used to go with my grandfather (RIP). That rain game with UF was an absolute blast. I remember that huge bolt of lightning that popped. The Florida DB nearly jumped out of his skin. Tell me somebody remembers that as well as I do.

Oh yeah, the Cincy game was a blast, too.

It was blazin' hot in the first half, then at halftime the black cloud came rollin' out of the northwest and it poured down rain. That stadium was ROCKIN'!

I was in the field. The entire.time I was at Ft Campbell I spent almost every football season in the field on training cycle and spring in garrison on details. Lousy.
