Does anyone know why we didn't use Advent design?

Does anybody know why we didn't use Advent design for the Anderson Training Center? I believe we used Cope or maybe we are just doing it in house with UT's own graphic designers. I know Advent did the initial trophy/awards room in the Neyland-Thompson building before it became the Lucy Hand digital Studio. Advent is a Nashville based company. It would make sense to support an in state business. Advent has upgraded several facilities including Penn St, Florida St, Dallas Cowboys, and the Titans. I'm not bashing our current designer but from the Advent web page, for which I have included a link, their designs just look so much better to me. They pop and really grab your attention. I was just wondering if there was some falling out between Advent and UT or was UT just going a less expensive route? If anyone knows anything or if you just want to comment on the Advent web page let me know. I don't work for Advent or care if you visit the link or not. If it was Cope, that is a Knoxville based company.
And what the heck is 'financially fiscal?'

I'm not sure of the exact process that UT uses for their design projects, but in most situations the owner (UT) would go through a bid process, where interested (or invited) design firms would develop a design and a fee that they would present to the owner, which they would then choose a design firm. Most times, cost is the biggest deciding factor. UT definitely has money to spend, but with the high profile projects that Cope has under their belt, they may charge top dollar for their services and they was an acceptable design from another that was more cost effective. I'm speculating, but this is the process I have always seen in other situations.

I don't think it's anything personal by UT to not choose local. Studio Four Design, whose office is in Knoxville, designed the renovation for Thompson Bowling Arena and Summit Plaza. In the end, it just comes down to who has an acceptable design that is affordable.

Had he not posted you would have never known he didn't care.

He does care about you knowing that he doesn't care about who's doing the remodeling at who cares where.

Use the same ones that did the Terrace.
