Hats off to both coordinators. I, like many, have been critical of DeBord and our uncreative play-calling until yesterday. Yesterday, he called a good game, there were some new wrinkles (like getting Hurd down the field for a TD catch--can do the same with Kamara) and, good grief, we threw to the TEs.
And what you have to like about Shoop is that our defense always gets better as the game goes along. I'm not sure why we're so bad defensively early in games--we gave up 300 yards in the first half yesterday, and were bad against app. state and va.tech early too--but we tighten up dramatically in the second half--which is crunch time. Games are won in the second half.
