Does anyone else think that Franklin is shady?

The shady part is that the kid has 4.73 GPA but has a 900 SAT and a 19 on the ACT. One of those things is not like the others.

That discrepancy suggests to me that the academic standards that his high school has for honors coursework and/or Advanced Placement credit aren't as rigorous as they should be for the additional credit that they carry.

Everyone makes academic exceptions for football players (.with the alleged exception of UT) I am not a fan of the guy but he is a great salesman....he sold Vandy brass on doing what they need to do to not be a doormat and he has done a good job of selling kids the idea of an Ivy league education in the SEC. That being said if there one thing Butch Jones does its kick the S out of vandy.

I'm not sure about his test scores but his overall academics are considered to be a strength of his. His father has made him aware of all the players who washed out of the NFL, didn't make it in the first place, or suffered injuries early in their careers and had either no degree or a basically worthless one. Like all good fathers he wants his kid to have the tools to be highly successful and be prepared in case his dreams aren't fulfilled.

There are basically three reasons Vandy is high on his list: he wants to be a music major and Vandy is strong in this area, SEC, and he likes CJF.

Okay, so...

Leon McQuay III. 5* prospect. Lists Florida State, USC, and Vanderbilt as "high" on his rivals page.

But the guy has a 19 on the ACT, 900 on the SAT, and a "4.73" GPA. I'm sorry, but how the junk do you get a 4.73 GPA?

So my thing is.....how you gonna tell me that Vanderbilt has done well enough to get to "high" on this guy, when he can't get higher than a 19 on the ACT, and a 900 on the SAT.

Something just ain't right. Vanderbilt is one of the best academic entities out there....and this guy doesn't look like he is.

Anyone else think Franklin may be doing some sketchy things to make recruiting happen like it is?

Hate to judge....but it's Vanderbilt.

If they're doing anything right on a field, there's gotta be something going on.

Like a willow tree...the guy glows with bull3h!y...I may like him less than his boyfriend (you know..Clay Travis?)

You speculating that he took his test in 9th grade. We don't know that, and apparently you don't either. Next time before you pose a question, do the research and then bring it to the board. Franklin is shady as a big mossy oak tree in the summer on a clear day.

I can't believe your on here judging this kid. Don't get on here and call a kid a dumbass based off posted academics that your found on the Internet.

I'm just saying, it's rare that you find a 5* player who happens to be a genius as well.

And when you look at the guy in question....he doesn't look (no offense) like the smartest light bulb in the knife drawer.
