Horseshiit! You are like the other babies on here who think ESPN is against us. Blackledge used to LOVE the Vols. When we quit getting our azzes handed to us by the big boys, the announcers will sound more positive to you.

I watched a little of the Duke/FSU game (Gameplan, I think, or maybe ESPNU - don't remember for sure). Gottfried and Larry Coker were sort of doubling up on the color stuff (don't remember who the play-by-play guy was). It sounded almost like Gottfried might be recovering from a stroke or something? If it wasn't some kind of physical problem, there's no doubt he was drunk. Everything he said was really slurred, much more than the last time I heard him.

There was a point in the KY game that SB used himself as a reference to either a player or a play that just happenned. Steve said, "that player(or play, I do not remember which) reminds me of...pause for effect...ME" Now that was totally lame and shows the knowledge he carries in his Golden Dome.:crazy:

I realize this is a thread for cbs/sec, but it can't be left unsaid that Bryant Gumbel is thee worst announcer ever!!!! Watching that Indy game on Thanksgiving was brutal! Someone would have made a first down by 5 yards and he would still say that he "appears" to have a first down. Almost every first down just "appeared" to be made no matter how clearly past the marker it was. Annoying!!!

My problem with him was how obvious he made it that he was for UK..

It was ridiculous...Good UK plays were made out to be great....Good UT plays were downplayed...UK mistakes were downplayed...UT mistakes were emphasized....He made the comment "They always catch the 2nd guy" after a UK personnal foul when the UT player didn't do anything to begin with...

I know I wear orange colored glasses....I do it proudly...but it still couldn't have been any more obvious who he wanted to win...

It almost makes you wonder why he wasn't told to stop....I guess we don't have any powerful boosters that CBS is worried about pissing off

I remember that CLEARLY. He was talking about Woodson when he said that. I was railing on Beuerlein on this board during the game...he was making me nuts. Funny thing is, it was about three quarters of the way through the game, and I finished the sentence for him. That's how predictable he was. What a joke.

I heard that too when I watched the replay, he was completely lost.

Though many of the sportscasters do come off as idiots, I give a statement like that the benefit of a doubt. It's not an easy job and you are bound to make mistakes.

My biggest beef is with Lou Holtz, there is no excuse for that babbling idiot whatsoever. Skip Bayless is a close second.
