I don't think Beuerlin is horrible, just bad. The one I HATE is Todd Blackledge. That a$s is always against UT.
Mark Gottfried always sounds like he's intoxicated.
I'm surprised Verne and Gary can talk with Tebow in their mouth every minute of the day.
There was a point in the KY game that SB used himself as a reference to either a player or a play that just happenned. Steve said, "that player(or play, I do not remember which) reminds me of...pause for effect...ME" Now that was totally lame and shows the knowledge he carries in his Golden Dome.
I watched a little of the Duke/FSU game (Gameplan, I think, or maybe ESPNU - don't remember for sure). Gottfried and Larry Coker were sort of doubling up on the color stuff (don't remember who the play-by-play guy was). It sounded almost like Gottfried might be recovering from a stroke or something? If it wasn't some kind of physical problem, there's no doubt he was drunk. Everything he said was really slurred, much more than the last time I heard him.
My problem with Burlein is that he was obviously rooting for Kentucky. Every single time there was a reviewable play, he went against us. When Taylor was obviously pushed out of bounds before the catch, he tried to say that it was a weak call and he didn't see enough contact to justify being pushed out. Then, when we intercepted the two point conversion try and fumbled it out of the endzone he made the comment that he expected Kentucky to recover it. The comment wouldn't have made me mad if it weren't for the fact that the entire game he was pulling for Kentucky. The silliest comment was by one of our radio announcers, I think it was Jeff Francis when he commented on the Foster unsportsmanlike conduct foul at the end of the 3rd overtime. He said that it was a careless mistake and now Kentucky would start out on the 10 yard line. It was obviously going to be Tennessee's ball and not Kentuckys so we started on the 40, not Kentucky starting on the 10.
