Dobbs must run for this offense to be successful

That's the key to this offense. As much as he wants to avoid contact we cannot move the ball unless he tucks it and runs at least 30% of the time. And yes I have problems with how inconsistent our O line is and the hands of the receivers. But remember: this is last year's team but (allegedly) better. I have seen little to indicate that our offensive scheme has grown much in a year seeing as experience hasn't showed us much so far.

Correct. In this offense, the QB has to run every time the defense gives it to him. You have to keep them honest.

I imagine he thinks about protecting himself for the longevity of the season but this offense simply cannot do anything without him running. It's why we recruit good players to back him up just in case. Dobbs has to play his game pure and simple.
