He is in terms of talent but the NFL is a copycat league. No one is gonna take a guy in the 1st round that some have as a day 3 pick.

I said a few weeks ago that Dobbs would jump up draft boards once he performs at the senior bowl and the combine.

I still think 2nd round is a possibility. 4th round is the latest he will go.

I hope he goes that high!

McKenzie has done a solid job rebuilding that organization. Dobbs' athleticism would be a nice addition to Carr and Cook. Wish him the best

I've seen some terrible Qbs get drafted...based on leadership, mental capability, and dual threat ability he deserves in the very least to be a 6th-7th round backup.

He's showcasing much better talent than that...

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to read it's written in the stars for Josh Dobbs to shine as a star NFL quarterback. Whichever teams sleep on him now won't be able to pinch their defenses out of their nightmares later. Instead, they'll kick themselves for missing out on what one lucky team was smart enough to recognize in the former Tennessee Volunteers star quarterback when they invest the early draft pick and get instant greatness added to their franchise. Josh Dobbs is the offensive firepower that will earn big returns for the team that manages to snap him up before their competitor does. You'll be talking about returns on that wise investment that pays a team ever-increasing dividends for many, many years to come.

I would love to see Josh achieve an amazing level of success in the NFL. Dude is smart, athletic, and given the right situation, can surprise people. It will be a tough road but, I'm on his side. Go get em Josh! GBO!

The Dak effect will help Josh get drafted higher.

I agree with this. Everyone is looking for the next Dak and Dobbs' similarities to him will be a natural draw. I'm still not sold on him being an effective pro, and certainly doubt he's taken in the first two rounds, but the Dak effect will probably push him a little higher than he should go and higher than he'd have gone a year ago.

Tom Brady was a 6th rounder. Josh just needs an opportunity regardless of drafted or UFA. If he can get it done they will know.

Anybody catch his response when asked about Hurd up and leaving?

In the middle of his senior season with Tennessee, the Vols lost one of their all-time leading rushers as Jalen Hurd abruptly quit the team. It was a rare moment that both shocked those who follow the SEC and created a major distraction for Dobbs and his teammates.

RSB: As a leader on that team, when Jalen Hurd made that decision to leave the team, what was the feeling for you?

Dobbs: For me, the feeling really never changed. I knew guys were looking to me to see how I reacted under a tough situation. So I remember getting back from South Carolina and calling a team meeting on Sunday, me and other fellow captains, and just talking to the team about how there might be distractions out there outside media trying to fill thoughts and make their own assumptions about the team but the only opinions that matter are the guys in this room and we affect how we play each and every Saturday so we have to focus in on our preparation, on how we prepare for the next upcoming week because no matter who we step on the field against, they’re not gonna care about whatever distractions and things that we have going on so we have to be focused and ready to play. It showed, the way we finished out the season. I knew at that time, the team was looking toward me for my leadership, for my steady consistency and preparation and my approach each and every day and that’s what I was able to offer up to the team.

Way more of a distraction to our team than some would like to let on. And when he mentions distractions in the media he is talking about everything from journalists to fans on a message board.
