Even with lipstick on this passing game is still a pig.

There is enough blame to go around, but Dobbs is still a factor. He's not good. The bloom is off that rose.

Yet we have people calling for a backup Dobb's has outperformed in camp and the spring. Ya'll are acting like he is 45% passing with 3 ints.

Who cares about percentage if a quarterbacks passes are all under 8 yards. Everyone is stacking the box against us and the safety's are 10 yards deep or less because they know Dobb's cant hurt them deep. We are not helping the o-line at all with the shotgun formation runs and wide receiver screens. We need to offensive to open it up some with passes deeper than 10 yards, then Dobbs needs to complete some passes and the run game need the linebackers and safteys to back up a little.

How is 70% over 200 yards and 2 tds garbage? :thud:

Because against a good team, those numbers wouldn't happen. Against a good team, if he overthrew receivers like he did, they'd be picked. Against a good team, he loses that fumble. As someone else already mentioned, Texas State QB threw for over 400 against them. It was a garbage game.

I think over 70% even with some drops would count as completing passes. Would it not?

How people can still defend Dobbs' passing is unbelievable. The passes he missed he had enough time from the line. Malone ran that route at the same pace from beginning to end Dobb's should have thrown it at Malone's pace. He was so wide open that he didn't even need to try and perfectly hit him in stride. He could have just thrown it straight to him. The stats they showed of his throws at certain distances was really bad.

You're still missing it. What's his passing percentage when you take out screen passes?

What is his percentage is you take away drops? Tom Brady throws 90% of his passes under 12 yards. That is how qbs play in real life. This isn't Madden on Xbox.

71% completion rate and 7.2 yards per pass avg.

Phillip Rivers 69% - 6.75 yds per pass
Russell Wilson 63% - 6.00 yds per pass
Aaron Rodgers 59% - 5.85 yds per pass
Cam Newton 55% - 5.88 yds per pass

Just sayin' ......drop that short pass crap.

Wtf that's not how it works

To be fair if he puts a lil more touch on 3 passes UT wins this game big.

As I am sure you know, the problem is that he rarely puts the right touch on passes over 15 yards. But yes if we connect on those two plays Volnation would be much easier to read today.

Dobbs has missed 3 passes to Malone that would account for 2 TDs and about 130+ yards.

He had ample blocking time those throws as well.

The fact is he has regressed as a QB this year through three games, and it's really not a question.
If you really believe that you should turn off the TV. Regressed? How many touchdowns 30 + yards did he throw last year? How many this year? Your comments are absurd sir. Though sadly many will go along with you like a bunch of children following an ice cream truck.

Malone blew a TD by not going full speed? What? He could've gone Usain Bolt speed and not caught up to the ball that ball....how in the world do you put that in him? He did his job, was wide open (just like the other deep throw where Dobbs missed him by a mile).....it was the QB who didn't do his job and get the ball to his best WR who was wide open for a TD.

I call @$!#****. Watch that play a few more times.

Can't blame him for the INT, can't blame him for the sacks, but my goodness, it's freaking Ohio. Dobbs should have 400 yards passing.

Debord calls the short passes because Dobbs can't throw the intermediate and long routes. Did you guys see the stats they showed today on how his numbers stacked up against the top 75 Qbs based on the length of the route? He was consistently in the lower third.
