Although 9 wins was improvement this year with the talent we have coming back next year we have the ability to be in playoff contention.

It's obvious Dobbs accuracy is questionable at best and leaves big plays and potential points off the board. Dormady clearly has better arm strength and accuracy. Not stating I think this should happen but curious to see what VN thinks. Kind of like the Chris Leak/Tim Tebow rotation that won Florida a Natty.

Even if opposing defenses knew about Dormady they could not fully commit to the pass with Hurd in the backfield, or Kamara if he stays.

D4H please refrain from detailing this thread. Happy new year, VN.

Would love to see them on the field sometime with both in the backfield. Just four plays a game or so.
.just to give dc fits.

We constantly underrate the value that a senior leader like Dobbs has on the rest of the team as the full-time starter.

No. Absolutely not. Dormady has looked fine in garbage time, but the most popular player on any team is the backup QB. Too much confusion. We have an identity, a system, and a solid QB to run it. No.

What's the reason for the adamant opposition?

Others have used a rotation with success, why couldn't we?

Because one guy is a lot better than the other one.

I don't get the fascination with Dormady.

We just went 9-4 for the first time since the Fulmer years with Dobbs being the starter. We got a system that works for our players and that wins. Let's chill on Dormady until it's his time.

Good point, if we are talking about a 50/50 split. I think the op is talking about a few plays a game...just another wrinkle to the offense.

Who's fascinated?

Several want him as the starter. It's ridiculous.

That's silly. Dobbs has the once in a decade ability to put a team on his back and carry them to victory.

FTR, I would have liked to have seen a rotation between Worley and Dobbs.

Imagine a play like TCU ran for the 2 point conversion last night with QD as QB and Dobbs as the tailback with option to run or pass.

Bad idea. In spite of some shortcomings in passing game Dobbs has more than earned full time starting job at this point. Next to Hurd he is probably our most important player coming back next year and the last thing we need is for him to look over his shoulder and wonder when he will get pulled.

Yep and folks are really going to miss what Dobbs brings with his running ability once he graduates. Fans get a pocket guy and they want a runner. Give them a runner and they want a pocket guy. Fickle bunch.

Also, one of our best plays this year was Dobbs receiving a pass from Jennings against UF.

A rotation doesn't have to exclude Dobbs. It could simply take more advantage of his talents.

I agree with that. People are never happy no matter the circumstances.

I believe in Dobbs, however his passing game is close to non existent. We already have a stellar backfield and with a dynamic passer opposing defense could not afford to stack the box or commit to the pass.

I'm not saying there should be a 2 QB system, just trying to make the off season go by quicker with healthy discussion.

Dobbs is without question the most important player returning.

We won a national championship with a QB who was a worse passer.

You just don't get the luxury of an experienced Senior starting QB very often. And he'll only improve in the off-season.
