I don't think it will happen. Stock cars are a lot different than the Indy car. It's taken Hornish jr about a year and a half to run somewhat decent.

Based on all the recent attempts by open wheel drivers, Franchitti, Hornish, Carpentia, Villaneuve, Speed, and Allmindinger, (only Allmindinger has shown very much), I think she would be making a mistake. I personally do not care either way. I thought Hornish stood the best chance and he is improving.

I always thought Paul Tracy could make the transition, but he may be past his better days.

She'll be at Ganassi in the IRL, it's pretty much signed and sealed, and that's why Dixon is rumored to be one of De Ferran's new drivers, along with either Sato or Pagenaud.

I don't want her in NASCAR. She would be more of a media ploy and that's all they would cover for the first 6 mo. Don't get me wrong I don't mind seeing her, just don't want her to take away from the racing stories.

yeah i'd much rather they talk about the mediocre son of a former champion currently mired in 25th, in the points.

I just think that she'll bring more coverage to the sport but for the wrong reasons. If she really wants to come to NASCAR there is sponsors with $$ and owners willing to throw her in a car. I think she's just using NASCAR to get more money in the IRL.

Comparing Danica to Dale Jr. is stupid. Danica has one career win, due to fuel strategy, in IRL and Jr. has 18 career wins in Sprint Cup.

it's becoming pretty miraculous he's managed to win once, let alone 18 times.

also, if it hadn't been for fuel milage, Juniors last win would have been over two years ago, so be careful when classifing winning.

a win is a win is a win. it pays the same no matter how you do it.

for the record, i don't think she'd be any more successful in NASCAR than Dale Jr would in the IRL.

but you'll watch Stewart, Harvick, Biffle, and Kenseth (to name a few) throw fits and go after drivers after the race like a bunch of 10 year old girls?

because she's a woman she doesn't get a pass for her behavior but the men do? c'mon now.

You're right because winning once on luck and winning 18 times are basically the same.

Ifs and buts...if Kurt's loose wheel didn't roll onto the track he wouldn't be a cup champion. If not for fuel milage Jr. would still be a winner, unlike Danica.

True, it pays the same and season long injured players on Super Bowl winning teams get rings too. Doesn't mean it's respected the same in all cases.

Maybe not but I don't remember Dale wanting to go to IRL. I thought we were discussing the idea of Danica coming to cup??

it's a message board. we can talk about whatever we want.

there's not a single driver on the track that day that downplayed her win with fuel mileage. why? because they were all trying to make it on fuel mileage. she happened to do the best job at it.

trying downplay a win based on fuel mileage is really really stupid.

also, the comment on him winning 18 times was a stand alone statement. given his current talent level, i can't believe he won 18 times. nowhere did i mention comparing him to anybody else. do a better job of reading.
