Do you think we underestimated Bowling Green?

We heard about how Bowling Green had a potent offense and many of us, me included, kind of blew it off, expecting the defense to handle them without too much trouble. I'm not saying our defensive effort was acceptable, I'm saying that there were perhaps people without orange shades on who saw this coming.

Our fans did, I also think it was a perfect storm scenario with all the secondary injuries, Todd Kelly out and Martinez getting suspended.

Give BG credit though, they have NFL talent at WR and QB.

Many saw this coming.
Just as expected, those who scoffed at the idea,
are now leading the charge of how horrible we are.

No I think we overestimated our defense. Our secondary looked atrocious. I expect this year to be like 2012 if proper adjustments aren't made. We got beat in one on one waaaaay too many times. If you can't bring a safety down because your corners are garbage on the outside and need help over top, then we'll get run on aaaaall day. Then it's just back and forth big plays from multiple angles, which we saw plenty of tonight.

Just about every analyst I listened to this week said the BG would score points and the people who said they would score 7-10 points were going to be very surprised. I'm more impressed we scored 59 than anything. I didn't think Butch would allow it unless we had to score that much. I'll admit I didn't feel comfortable until we were up 29. I get the feeling Butch didn't either.

and the most experienced offensive line in college football. we might look back at years end and see this was not that bad a performance given who we were missing.

Bowling Green should light up alot of people this year.

As ugly as this game started out...we still won. I had to shake my head and grit my teeth at some of the big completions BG made. When they made the 4th and 3 from deep in their own territory, I about lost it.Butch will get the adjustments made for OK....but this may have been a good first game to expose our weaknesses.

Will be very interesting to see what the line is for that game. Any predictions?

I'll admit that BG was a little more athletic at WR than people thought, but any WR will look good when they have the room they had today to catch the ball. I was really surprised at Mosley getting beat over and over again. Let's just hope they can make adjustments I'm the OU game if this happens again like today.

I'll admit it caught me off guard. I was expecting our defense to maul them.

I did expect us to score in the 40-50 range. I never would have guessed the return game success which I think is why we almost scored 60 (well combined with them scoring 30 forced CBJ to push the starters a little longer than expected).

Some. Of the knee jerk reactionary types on this site did.
We looked rough in. The DB area a lot today. I'm curious why we ran the style of D we ran tonight.

Honestly, that may be the fewest points BG scores the entire year in a game. You'll look back and the end of the season and feel better about how your team played defensively.
