I've said many times that the only reason I'd have fired him in the first 2 seasons was if we lost 8 games, as that's something we've never done.

If there isn't improvement next year (bowl win, compete for the division, etc), then he should be fired. I didn't really expect him to pull a Saban or Chizik and win a title after 2 years, but if the team doesn't look any better next year, he's not doing his job and should be relieved of it.

No, it's a silly question.

I'd rather lose to UK this year then next when there will be more on the line.

This sums it up for me.. Two years just isn't enough time to get us out of the hole we were put in by the craziness that took place before he got here(whats turned out to be 3 of the worst recruiting classes of all time for UT)

This is weird all the crazies go to sleep, and the sane fans stay up. Good to see some people able to voice opionions based in reality, rather than in a dreamworld where youth, inexperience, and coaching changes play no factor. I have heard enough of some "fans" making arguments like "IDK IF DD HAD INHIERDED CARSON NEWMANS TEAM HERE, WE SHOULD HAVE KILLD BAMA". So for those sane, coherent fans in a dark cruel board I toast you.

The sooner he is fired the better. Tennessee is just too big for Dooley. I don't get why delay the inevitable? No way this guy wins 8 games next year.

He doesn't know what he's doing, especially on the sidelines. I had rather have Justin Wilcox as Head coach.

We will never be more than mediocre with Dooley as coach. Heck we just got beat by a terrible kentucky team with no qb. Dooley has to go.

If we keep firing coaches every two years we will never get out of this hole! You will lose recruites and who would want to come play for a school who has No stability? Who would want to coach if you knew you had two years to get things going without great players? Makes No sense! You have to give things time.

There are some changes that need to be made, may it be personnel changes or just the way they coach. That is something they have to figure out. I think Dooley is a great addition and just came into a bad situation and it will take some time to get back to where UT football should be.

Only way they should fire Dooley this year is if they have a can't miss coach who wants to come here in the works, which I seriously doubt is in the works. I have no confidence in the guy that he can get it done next year, but he needs to have a third season to show progress.

The reason we are in this hole, ms., is because we didn't fire a coach who was digging it soon enough. You lose recruits when they lose confidence in a coach a lot faster than you do when things are unstable (compare 2008 and 2011). IMO, next year's recruiting class will be a tough one.

I clicked the wrong choice... now I feel retarded. Account for one less yes and one more no.

Yes, only if Hart can hire someone like Gary Patterson behind closed doors before he fires Dooley.

See I keep thinking the time is now. The East is down. There is actually a good deal of talent on this roster. If we could bring in a home run hire we could play in about 5 SECCGs in a row. JMO.

I understand that there aren't any home run hires right now, but clearly he is not a SEC head coach. The team did not improve throughout the year, the players do not respond to him and all he has are witty quips and an orange dog. It may set us back but nothing he has done shows that he will have this team ready to compete next year. Big time recruits are not looking at us. He is not the man for the job and everyone knows it. It is best to sever ties and try to find someone else before he sinks us further into mediocrity.

I have never seen us lose to Kentucky and this one hurt really really bad. Another year even close to this and he is gone.

I voted yes, i have supported him until the UK game and cannot bring myself to do so any longer.
Fire him now, why delay the inevitable.

The results of this poll say everything you need to know about the mindset that has overtaken the UT fanbase. Two days ago, UT lost to a Kentucky team that didn't have a quarterback, yet almost 75% of the people who voted are in favor of retaining the coach. If losing to UK has now become acceptable, the DD can truly do no wrong in the eyes of a lot people.

I answered no but if I were Hart I would expect some answers about the coaching decisions and the obvious split in this team. I would also suggest he hire a competent OC if he wanted to be around longer than next season.

I wouldn't shed a tear if Dooley were fired though after the debacle on Sat.
