Yes I support CDD on this one. If its about Arnett's dads heath issues, then the school should not matter, but why go crying to the media when it's not the school you want?

When you sign the LOI you agree to play football for the next 4 or 5 years for that school. Same way with coaches when they agree to a coaching job. If the leave before their contract is up, they pay. Another example...my job. I signed a Non-compete form. Meaning that if I decide to move, I can't work for a competitor. It's life.

I support Coach Dooley 100% on this one. I know that all of you negavols will find a way to spin this to where CDD is the bad guy and he should be fired blah blah blah. If D. Arnett truly wanted to transfer back home to be close to his sick father then going to any school up there should be fine with him. I dont know the situation all that well but I think part of his reason is he wants to go play for a big time school that is winning right now. He likes to play in the media to much to not have his name mentioned as much as possible. Just go back to all of his committment videos last year.

Arnett choose this particular time b/c news is slow and he knew it would attract the most media attention. He also knew of his dad's unfortunate health issue at the time he signed his LOI. The dude is only 18, but he is playing grown up games and manipulating this situation.
Best wishes to the Arnett family.

I understand CDD position this, but I don't support it due to the bad press on the whole situation. I think you do things on a case by case situation. The pics of the young man father is the nail in the coffin for me. Now I do think young people need to think before they do stupid stuff like this going to the media and crap, but when you have a sick relative its a different story.

I haven't heard the stance CDD is taking on this situation so I can't vote without more facts.

I heard that his dad is sick and he wants to be closer to home and IF that's the real situation and IF he does plan to play at a college that IS very close to home then CDD should let him go.

IF the kid is only selfish and just wants to go play for a college that's winning more right now and it's not really close to his dad then CDD should put limitations on his release and the kid should have to sit out a year like everyone else does.

NOW is the time for these kids to grow up and learn to be responsible for their actions and commitments.

VFL...GO BIG ORANGE!!!

if his letter is the truth, then no, ncaa should step in and do something. Really, ol Vince get sick, or momma, and he would want to do all he could for his family.

His dad is sick, but he was sick when he signed with UT. This has more to do with Baggett being gone than anything.

I often disagree with Dooley, but I'm behind him 100% on this. If the UTAD thinks the rule, the policy, the stance or whatever terminology you want to use, needs to be changed, clarified or refined then they can change, clarify or refine it. But, for now, UT has an official position in keeping with school policy, it has been stated and the issue is now closed for this situation and this player. Second-guessing it only keeps the controversy alive. Time to move on.

Looking at the bigger picture, I have a major issue with letting a player use the media to attempt to blackmail a school and a coach into letting him have his way. If that isn't a breach of team rules, then it should be. Otherwise, an exceedingly nasty precedent has just been set, and who knows what the next email to the media will say? We have had way too much airing of dirty laundry in the media this past month, and that is what I would most like to see changed. Immediately.

I support Coach Dooley as well... but that does not mean that I have to agree with every decision he makes. I perhaps do not have all the information on this one, but on the surfice it looks like he IS the bad guy on this decision.

I don't care if Arnett goes to Mich or Mich State of whoever, if he does not want to be a VFL, let him go and we will find someone who is thankful for the opportunity
