We have a national public radio station, as do most cities I would think, here in College Station that has many segments with some ties to the University. Many of their broadcasts and programs have some pretty interesting topics and give a vareity of veiwpoints. At times though, they seem to be quite political and partisan as does most of the regular npr segments. Its not uncommon for someone to have an agenda on there, but all in all, I typically enjoy listening untill I get back close enough to here espn. Anyone else ever tuned into to the NPR station?

What's your take on it? Too political at times?

I am a talk radio junky so really nothing at all phases me.

In fact, I love it when talk shows become too political because it shows how silly those people really are.

I agree. Talk radio is all I listen to unless my wife is in the truck. She cant stand it so we compromise and put in a cd. I think the veiwpoints expressed are evenly balenced which I like...its just so common. By far, some of the most insightful interviews though ranging from authors to musicians to political figures to the tree hugger in Northern Oregon. Glad to see Im not the only one.

Not too long ago, Terry Gross had a very entertaining interview of Alice Cooper. "Star Date" is a neat little segment and I like "Car Talk" with Click and Clack. I never remember to catch it, but the opening bit of "Lake Wobegon Days" is some of the funniest radio out there.

I'll pretty much listen to any thing, do you ever listen to Coast to Coast and hear the stories about aliens and demons and the white trucks lurking around waiting to take every one away..........

I love talk radio!

Used to love NPR. Best radio news program in the U.S. in my opinion. Also like the BBS news that some public radio stations also carry.

Then I got addicted to Howard Stern. NPR used to improve my IQ, now HS takes a few points off every morning but I love it.

I listen to the NPR stations at ETSU & UT. Click&Clack is my favorite, with Prarie Home Companion a close second. Also enjoy Mountain Stage, have had some people I know on it from this area.

I listen to NPR podcasts when I have time. I used to listen to NPR on the way to work, but lately I have become addicted to sports talk.

Agreed. I listen to 90.5 WNPR here in CT, when i'm too far out to hear Imus on 770AM, and get tired of hearing the ha-ha's and fart jokes on Country Radio (And, of course, the awful music, the GOD AWFUL music)

Must be tough being a UT fan in UConn country!
