Somebody asked me the other day about what it would cost to install a pool. Any idea of a price range?

Freak depending on the size, you can spend anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000 installed. Now this is for a "pool" ..

Freak. for real. I don't have enuff back yard, so, You deal with what you got. I have a friend in Vegas that has one like a gittar and she payed 20000 for it so, I'm in TN so I went the po-boy route. lol :rock::rock:

I figured there was a pretty wide range. I guessed 25000 for a decent pool. I'm sure you could spend more or less.

We have had one for 14 years now. It was great the first 3 or 4 years. Now I consider all the upkeep just another chore. But, my wife and son still love it.

i just pay $60 per month for 4 swimming months at the Aquatic club that we are members of and let them take care of the hassle of clean up, upkeep, chemicals....etc.

I hear more and more people going with salt water rather than chlorine for their pools. It is supposed to be easier to maintain.

Our pool is great 'cause we don't have to take care of it. We let the HOA do all the work, we get all the benefits.

The water feels nicer, too. I changed mine over to a salt system last year.

We spent $19,500 for an 18X36 inground vinyl and we added a slide and a diving board and a larger concrete patio so after it was all said and done with inspections and hiring electrician and county people it came to around $22, maybe $22,500. And it took him about three months to complete... it should have been done in 6 weeks.

Two things, the first being, the guy that did it was the step father of a buddy so it took longer and he kind of tried to half A a few things, for example the cover and the auto cleaner.

The second thing, my son swims every single day and he has his little friends over all the time and I would pay pretty much anything to keep my kids entertained, plus I get to have my Mommy friends over and we break out the margaritas, it's been a very good thing for us. But be prepared, when you tell people you are putting one in everyone will say things like "We just walk to our community pool, it's like all the fun with none of the work" or "I have friends that never ever use their pools, it's a big waste of $$$" People can be so stupid.

My Dad just put a salt system in. It is great. All you do is test the water and then turn a dial up or down depending on whether you need more or less chlorine extracted from the salt.
