Get your head out of the sand and look across the landscape.

UT has underperformed for most of my life and yours. For every replacement of Zook there is a replacement of Kiffen.

Does anyone celebrate Fulmer's Wyoming loss as a catalyst of change? Lol at the change we now have...

Every year nearly every team gets their season shattered on the rocks in one form or fashion. We don't have to give ours away on one hail mary pass.

You applauded Mullen until he got his teeth kicked in last Saturday against our next opponent. If we look marginally better does that change your perspective?

You cited Mason as a better alternative days before even the Bama fans walked out on their blowout of Vandy.

You love this team. Whatever Butch has taken from you don't let him take that on Saturday.

If we were secretly hoping for a loss, why would we admit it? Kinda defeats the purpose of a secret.

From the posts of many I am not so sure it is well kept. Posted the thread as much for myself as anyone. Losing sucks. I sat through that hot ass game last week and asked myself why a couple times. I love this team though and it is UGA week and for one more week Butch is my coach and I hope he wins.

Never in my life have I hoped UT lost a single game. And I never will.

Go Vols, forever. No matter what.

How do you know this? I'm 44 and I don't feel that way. With few exceptions, we weren't underperforming from 1989-2004.

Also, I never cited Mason as a better alternative or cared about Mullen. Maybe you should just speak for yourself?

I get what OP is saying. Take UMass for example. UT didn't deserve that win at all. The team showed all the crap we as fans have complained about for years, so clearly Butch isn't correcting certain issues. I will never hope UT loses, but if we had lost I wouldn't have been upset like in year's past or like the Florida game. Butch is a dead man walking and while I will root for UT and watch the games, I'm not going to be upset if we lose because I kind of expect us to find new and unique ways to rip loss from the jaws of victory.

I would prefer this coaching staff pull its head out if its behind and go on a crazy win streak which ended in the playoffs. Unfortunately, I don't have confidence that BJ and company will get it done.

No not wishing for a loss. I am on the other hand expecting one this weekend. Might get ugly. Butch better buckle up. I think it really comes down to what happens versus Carolina. Butch finds a way to lose to Muschamp again, then Bama on the road. Yeah the train will jump the track.

Pull any of the replace Butch threads and you can find references to either.

I think you can hope for a win but know that a loss is going to usher in the inevitable as far as some people are concerned. It's knowing what lies ahead and wanting to just get it over with I suspect (Not saying that's me, just speculating).

I have been tearing into Butch just about as bad as anybody, but I would never hope or wish for a Tennessee loss. I'm loyal to this University and we could go 0-12 and I'd still be sitting in Neyland decked out in orange singing Rocky Top. Honestly, I do not want a coaching change. It would just set us back. I want our program to finally turn the corner and get back to the top where we belong. I wish Butch would just have an eureka moment and just start learning and fixing his mistakes. I want him to succeed here. But it's when I see the team look as poorly prepared and coached as against UMass where I seriously doubt his ability to do so. Regardless, I'll always support our players and program. Go Vols!
