yes. people have short memories. acting like the last two weeks didn't happen doesn't mean they didn't. prior to the last two weeks i was dead set against a Miles, Brohm or Pruitt type hire.

and i'll say now what i said about the possiblity of getting Brohm last week....


all things considered, we just fell azz backwards in to a field of daisies.

Past two weeks doesn't matter. Cause it didn't impact the grand scheme of things. Just hype, just media wind bags talking out their rear end. Good hire! Les Miles is done, been done that's why he isn't working. I was only ok with Les if Tee was OC and waiting HC.
Now for staff....break out the check book.

This is the guy... he understands a lot about winning and what it takes... will see a higher level of focus and discipline on the field.

I would rather you see it worded as "support" than "approve". Underwhelming hire. Has potential, but I was looking for more of a shock the world kind of homerun hire.

I will support the PROGRAM, the coach is ancillary to that. He gets support by proxy until such time as he proves unworthy of it, say like losing to Vandy.

No year zero BS this time. Come here and be prepared to win, or get run out of town. He has to know this coming in.

Plus if paying him mid $4 million means assembling an elite staff I'm definitely okay with that too. The hire might not be as flashy as we wanted, but if he can put together a staff then we will be much stronger from top to bottom. We have the talent, we just need it to be properly developed. It is definitely an upgrade. He's a football guy and everybody speaks highly of him. He will recruit well and has a ton of upside.
