Do We Owe CKC An Apology?

She’s had 2 seasons. RB 12
RB has coached basketball as a HC since 1987. I get it you are only counting years at Tennessee.

But the point is, he is a seasoned head coach that has weathered lots of changes and he seems to have a great rapport with his players. He knows what he is doing. His counterpart - the jury is still out but most are not expecting much.

You nailed it big time. The local talking heads got their rear end out of joint on the supposed NIL debate re Tony V vs Lady Vols allocation with Dr Danny. They became jaded assuming this contributed to Tony leaving. They went on a mission to destroy her once she became vulnerable. Mafia is so true!!
It cracks me up how the identity of “the mafia” changes based on whose car is in the ditch.
We lost an excellent astrophysics professor!! It was the LV Mafia!!

Comparing a coach that many are not sure belongs in D1 to a certain Hall of Fame coach is ludicrous.

I mean, she has no players left, but then again, our HOF Elite 8 mens' coach is down to 2 players left. She lost a couple of coaches, he lost his #1 assistant. Maybe just a little food for thought...View attachment 824984

Barnes is recruiting over people and not overpaying for average players to stay. He's expected to run it back with another E8 caliber roster. CKC's players are taking paycuts to get away. I truly hope she signs an E8 caliber roster, but I don't like her odds. She needs 12 well-rounded, high-quality players for her system to work. Barnes needs 3 stars and 5 blue-collar contributor types. Barnes has a war pension to get 8 guys; CKC has some highly skeptical NIL donors that are feeling burned and full of doubt.

With regard to the drama, the clear chemistry issues, the publicizing of internal disagreements, and most of all the losing—no apology necessary. This season sucked.

With regard to the transfer portal, maybe yes. We assumed it was related to all of the above; but in retrospect, everyone from everywhere is in the portal. It’s just how things are and we were too quick to assume it was a reflection of culture.

Volnation fans (generally speaking) love them some soap opera action dealing with their teams. I may be in the minority but I despise soap operas and gossip. CRB will again put an enjoyable, hard working, probably NCAA bound team together as usual. I don’t know enough about the Lady Vols to comment BUT being a Vol fan I hope Caldwell gets it figured out. So let’s turn out attention to BaseVols and LV softball.

You are confusing two completely different things.
One is a HC with relatively little D1 / Major school experience that has just depleted every tool in the cabinet with no track record of being able to replace those tools.
The other is a proven commodity at HC that has flipped a roster several times in their career and proven they can reach an Elite level every season.

Is the first owed an apology for the critiques received based on what the second is doing...NO

Barnes had guys wanting to stay but Tennessee wasn’t offering enough Troy Henderson has now decided to stay after not getting the interest he wanted. Estrella supposed to be getting about 3 million and we wouldn’t go that high. Amari Wvans had our offer to stay but supposedly wanted 2 million and Gonzaga and Nova may be willing to pay.

None of our Lady Vols even wanted to stay. For many of them they will take a pay cut but playing in a non toxic environment may be more valuable. The Lady Vols were a top paying team last year. The guys not in the top 5 compared to the schools with huge budgets.

Serious question for anyone who is a donor: Why do you donate?

Very interesting, but... what are the sources? And do you know how many of those who left Kim wanted? How many she wanted at the same NIL as this year?

Do we owe an apology for crappy results?
Do we owe an apology for embarrassing scores?

Do we owe an apology for inept roster construction?
Do we owe an apology for a staff that flubbed just about everything?

Do we owe an apology for the person in charge of all those failures?

All the excuses, all the scapegoating, all the finger pointing doesn’t absolve the boss from responsibility for all that went wrong. Or worse yet, all that crashed and burned early in the season when the team played according to the kcs (Kim Caldwell System)?

She owes Vols fans an apology if anything. She has us on the cusp of being out of the Ncaa tournament. Something we've never had happen. I have my doubts about how successful her system will be at the highest levels, but as long as she is the Lady Vols coach, I wish her success. It just feels like her mass subbing system requires you to have 10-12 players all capable of competing against the other team's best 5. And in this day and age, thats just not feasible.

This lady had arguably the worst team in Lady Vols history you can't compare her to Barnes in any way. And no apology is needed. You're reaching

We only owe KC an apology if we do NOT keep score at LV games.....I think a HofF coach like RB should not be in the same sentence as KC...
